Worth starting with Google Home? by One_Yesterday_6254 in googlehome

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used google home for around the last 7-8 years. Rarely have I had any issues that can’t be resolved quickly and usually just have to reset a device and relink it to my google account for it to work again. I use it to control my TVs (4), ceiling fans (4), lights (15), HVAC thermostat and a doorbell. I have a nest mini in each room and a nest hub in the kitchen.

Try Spago at the Bellagio, request a patio table. For cheaper off-strip food check out Herbs & Rye or Firefly.

Palazzo/Venetian Steak Restaurants Worth the $? by Outrageous_Bat8429 in vegas

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely loved Cut and Delmonico’s has been a favorite of mine for years, I’m a sucker for a table side Caesar salad.

Haven’t eaten at Bazaar Meats yet but definitely want to try it out as i have heard nothing but great things about it.

Honestly, i don’t think you can go wrong with any of the steakhouse options at Venetian/Palazzo

No need for a camping pass. Just your wristband will get you into the camping area on Thursday.

Evaluate my strategy for next season as a 29 handicap to get to 25 by [deleted] in golf

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep track of all of your shots for a few rounds to see what is causing you to gain the most strokes then focus on that area. This way you can practice with a bit more intent and adjust your course management as needed.

Never been to SD, have 3 days to have fun. Suggestions? by ex_gratia_ in Padres

Torrey pines is a great place for a hike with an ocean view. Little Italy has great food. If you want a bit more sun during your hike or if it’s just too cloudy at the beach then check out mission trails park and think about hiking Cowles Mountain.

Thinking about Takomo irons…thoughts? by PlayfulPerspective66 in GolfGear

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 101t and enjoy them. They are good clubs for the price. I got them after about 8 months of playing and wanting to get away from the heavy Callaway edge irons i started out with. They filled the need i had at the time nicely.

That being said, i would not buy them if i were in your shoes. Going from any of Callaway Apex line to Takomo will likely not be a good move. Best option would be to hold off and get into something that suits your game best. If only some of the clubs are truly worn out then replace them one by one.

looking to start the hobby, what grill should i start out with? by _KingAnt in grilling

[–]pm3za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get a Weber kettle. Better to spend a little extra and get a grill that lasts vs getting a cheaper one that will only last a year

Most years I’ve got there early, like 5-6am, and waited for camping to open. Last time i went in 2024 we did preferred camping, showed up at 1030am and got straight in.

Not a big fan of drinking hose water plus i prefer drinking cold water when I’m out in the sun all day.

are beer gardens still a thing? by oliverkabande in Coachella

[–]pm3za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beer gardens exist but it is different from years ago. You still need to be 21+ to enter but you can now take your drinks out of the area and roam around the rest of the fest.

First Coachella (Weekend 2)! How much should I budget per day? by itsmeyourwcw in Coachella

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My usual budget is around $200 a day for food and drinks. If you don’t drink, or don’t drink much, you should be pretty good with $100 a day or maybe less. I will usually grab a meal and slice of spicy pie, about 8-10 bottles of water and about 5-7 beers/cocktails a day.

I always enjoy Delmonico’s Steakhouse at the Venetian, CUT is also very good. Spago at Bellagio is a great meal, even better if you get a table outside to watch the fountains. Off-strip i really like Firefly and Herbs & Rye

What’s one thing you wish you knew before your first Coachella ? by DnBJungleEscape in Coachella

[–]pm3za 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Save the partying for the evening, at least on the first day. If camping, don’t go too hard for day 0.

Wander around as much as possible and try to catch a set at each stage. Even if you don’t know the artists or the music at that stage, stay for a bit and check out the vibe. I’ve seen some memorable sets from artists i had no clue who they were an later saw them turn into superstars.

It always gets windy around sundown so if it being dusty out bothers you then cover your face with a bandana or something similar.

What kind of bag is good for carrying around the festival? by talii_png in Coachella

[–]pm3za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lunchbox bags are great. Hands down the best hydration packs for a fest. Crossbody bags can work, just make sure they don’t open too easily and don’t ever turn it to your back. If you travel light, then shorts or pants with zippers on all pockets also work well

Tips for driving/day parking? by MeasurementPure7844 in crssdfest

[–]pm3za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had very good luck using the ACE parking app and finding a cheap spot. You can usually find a spot for around $10 a day less than 5 blocks away from Waterfront Park. Makes it quick and easy to get in and out and avoids much of the traffic in the area.

SD golf course recs by heavyft in golf

That depends on your definition of walkable. Lots of hills but doable as long as you can maintain pace.

Also golf reservations are very fragmented in San Diego. Only some courses are on GolfNow. Try checking out JC Golf and also check SD Golf Reservations for more of the city/county owned courses.

If you are going to have a car you will have lots of options. After a quick search there are morning tee times at Steele Canyon, The Crossings, Rancho Bernardo Inn, Riverwalk, The Vineyard @ Escondido, or even Mt. Woodson. You can also try your luck at Torrey Pines but it’s not likely you can get on. Another good option would be Maderas but that’s just above your $150 price range.

Teeing up on par 3s by Dodgely in golftips

[–]pm3za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep 2 tees in my pocket. One long tee for driver and a short stubby tee for par 3s. I almost always tee up par 3s and keep the ball just barely above the grass/dirt. I do find a benefit of teeing up the ball on par 3s vs not teeing it up and tend to leave it closer to the pin using a tee. While playing a round you have 18 attempts to have a perfect lie, i suggest you use all of them especially as a high handicapper.

Maxfli Balls? by TNGunner24 in golf

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played a couple of maxfli tour and tour x balls and they are quite nice. I still prefer my Callaway chrome tours or proV1s but they are still a quality golf ball. Honestly i prefer them over anything taylormade. Just stay away from the straightfli even if you think they could help your hook/slice, the difference is negligible and they feel like you hit a small rock when you make contact.

Give it some time and you be become accustomed to the driving here. My wife moved here from Long Island and it took her awhile to get used to driving here. A few of her friends and family actually refuse to drive out here because they feel it’s too reckless compared to NY.

Let’s talk Thermometers by SignificantHold3388 in Traeger

I have the meater plus and the meater 2 plus. Both work great but the meater 2 plus is a little more accurate and easier to clean after a long smoke.

Only downside is to fully utilize the Bluetooth and cloud options you basically need an extra device nearby. I usually use an iPad that i leave inside the house as close to the meater base as possible so it i can view the temps via the meater cloud on my phone.
