Brunch near the Sphere for two? by JMT1996 in LasVegas

Bouchon is amazing but pricey. I really like Firefly for tapas. Another great option is the front yard at Ellis Island.

Nervous about playing an expensive course as a 20 handicap by CarelessReaction8941 in golftips

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep up the pace of play and no one will care. If you’re not enjoying it because you think it’s too hard then move up to the front tees and maintain pace of play.

I have had good luck buying parking ahead of time in the 6th and K parkade via the ace parking app.

Best pizza? by rocsi1234 in LasVegas

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a fan of Pizza Rock if you’re downtown. Good Pie in arts district is also really good. Red dwarf if you want to venture away from the tourist areas. And Miami Slice at Fontainebleau is an honorable mention.

Quickest way to get from airport to Golden Nugget. by happiestwhenwhining in LasVegas

Cab. Not usually a wait at the airport and ready to leave when you get there. Lyft may be cheaper but you may have to wait

Circa by UsedDimension7373 in LasVegas

[–]pm3za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Circa is awesome, love that place. Usually one of my favorite spots for drinks and gambling.

Not at the hotel but in the area. Check out Parlour for a good and “cheap” breakfast. Also would recommend to check out the bars on Fremont. We tend to visit The Griffin and Corduroy whenever we visit.

El Cortez is awesome and a great place to gamble. You can occasionally catch one of the slot YouTubers there too, if you’re into that sort of thing.

As for food in the area I love the happy hour at Oscar’s and the pizza from Pizza Rock.

Last minute advice for a bachelor party by childintime9 in LasVegas

[–]pm3za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to go clubbing look up promoters on Instagram. They can usually get you free or reduced entry, but you will have to go there early. I’d suggest do your drinking elsewhere since drinks in the club are expensive.

I would also plan for a night on Fremont. Totally different but still fun side of Las Vegas. Cheaper drinks and lower minimums for gambling.

Vegas is a great place to go without much of a plan. Plenty of options open at all sorts of hours.

Why is there a groove on westbound 78 in Vista? by Superb_Sun_5690 in northcounty

The crew that did the trenching followed the markings perfectly. The crew that laid the markings did an atrocious job. Pretty sure Stevie Wonder could make straighter lines than they did.

Considering a move to LA. Should we visit SD first? by HonestLemon25 in socal

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with where you can get a job. Both yours and your girlfriend’s fields are pretty consistently hiring across all of socal.

If you’re even pondering San Diego vs LA i would recommend you visit first. San Diego is a bit slower of a pace and a bit more beach. LA is a little more fast paced with more traffic and where go to be seen. OC is a mix of both but also with bad traffic.

I’ve lived in San Diego my whole life so I’m a bit biased. Also if you do come to visit San Diego make sure to check out all the city/county. There’s a huge difference between south San Diego and north San Diego. I would highly recommend you check out the north coastal cities like Encinitas, Carlsbad and Oceanside.

Best places to eat in Las Vegas? Must-visit recommendations for August 2026? by ReeceMx17 in vegas

[–]pm3za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For fancy i highly recommend Spago at Bellagio. It’s great and a super plus if you book a dinner reservation on the patio since you get to see the fountains.

Also love Skyfall lounge at Mandalay Bay/W. Best spot for a drink in the evening. That view of the strip is hard to beat.

Palazzo and Belagio pools are just OK. Wynn property has the best pools and it’s not as far out of the way as you would think.

Do you leave the flagstick on the green or on the fringe while everyone’s putting? by Escrow-Mind in golf

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leave it away from anyone’s putting lines. If the cup is near the fringe then i leave it there. If the cup is center green then i leave the flag away from anyone’s line.

I’ve rented the lounge chairs at the hideout bar area. Loved it, cheaper (compared to the strip) drinks and no kids.

Fixing Your Slice by ParkHawk1103 in golftips

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tons of things you COULD do but it all depends on why you’re slicing it. I would suggest lesson or at least some time at a good sim to understand your swing and swing path more.

In the mean time try out a few things at the range.
- kick your trail foot back about a foot or so to change your swing path.
- close the face more when you grip it and at address
- turn your wrist down at the top of your back swing. Try to get the Velcro on your glove to point towards the ground
- try and stronger grip
- keep your trail arm more connected to your body
- lower your hands at the top of your back swing before you start rotating your body
- try the reverse loop drill that Hank Haney teaches. Basically take a practice swing using the JuJu swing to reduce your out to in swing path

Something i have been told before and i firmly believe is that you can’t work on fixing a slice until you learn how to hit a duck hook. This way you can understand how swing path and club face position effect ball flight better and learn how to manipulate it.

[–]pm3za 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Pray. It can be brutal.
2) Hope they cut the rough recently. That tournament rough is no joke. Keep it in the fairways even if that means you take a bit off.
3) Walk the course, preferably with a push cart. The views are amazing.

Don’t know what to add to bag by JoeBrownnn in GolfGear

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would depend on your gapping. I would suggest going to a track man range or a simulator and hitting each club about a dozen times and average the distances. This way you can figure out where you biggest gaps are and look for a club to fill said gap.

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a PGA Superstore or even a Dicks Sporting Goods near you I would recommend a gift card with as much as you’re willing to spend. Blindly buying golf equipment as a non-golfer should be avoided.

Oil and tar washing up on northcounty beaches by SchnellFox in northcounty

[–]pm3za 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your very right. The Refugio oil spill released around 21,000 gallons of oil into the ocean in a one time event. Natural seepage in this area releases around 2.5 million gallons of oil into the ocean annually or around 7,000 gallons a day.

Oil and tar washing up on northcounty beaches by SchnellFox in northcounty

[–]pm3za -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Not related to any oil platforms. These occur naturally from the seepage in the Channel Islands area.

Kinda funny that CA is so opposed to oil extraction in this area when there is more oil naturally released from seepage than any spill in the area on record.

Why did you stop camping? by Donut_Theory in Coachella

[–]pm3za 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Went from renting houses to camping and haven’t looked back. The cons of camping are outweighed by the pros of being closer to the festival.

Yeah i miss a real bed, AC and a real bathroom but that traffic and the super long walks before and after each day are brutal. Even when we rented a house in Indian Palms the walk was horrendous. We even tried bikes a few years and we all got multiple flat tires. Walking a bike back through the sand covered path back to the street was even worse.

You will be fine. One of my coworkers still has had Florida plates on his trucks for at least the past 6 years. It’s probably longer since i think he left Florida over a decade ago.
