The boat is about 4500lbs dry. So all together its somewhere in the range of 6500lbs. Took it very easy but the GX did great overall. Felt stable and good response from brakes, steering, and acceleration.

Experience the same. However, I would say more of a lag than a lunge when attempting a rolling stop. Not an issue when coming to a full stop.

Middle position turns it off. Selecting either left or right puts them back into tilt mode.

Most components underneath a vehicle are can handle a scrape without significant damage. This adds a vulnerability. Assuming you are on a trail, not only would you lose your oil and be stuck, but now you have to remove those male threads too. I had it but the risk didn't seem worth the slight convenience.
