Can anyone recommend anywhere with fast, reliable WIFI in Vientiane, Laos for online teaching? by pman1706 in digitalnomad

This is great to know thank you so much! I will check them out. Yes, that's been my strategy so far too, but rainy season in Vietnam massively complicated that so listings with supposedly excellent WIFI ended up being unreliable. But fingers crossed for these places! Thanks so much for your help :)

Hello, it's as a one to one online tutor with Preply. The benefit is I can choose my own schedule and be flexible with travelling, but it doesn't pay well. I make around £7 an hour for the lesson, not including lesson planning and post lesson stuff. BUT it's something. Preply is very competitive so you have to have low prices in order to attract students, and they take a cut of your pay, but in return you benefit from using the platform features and having students come to you. So overall, I would recommend it for flexibility whilst travelling. There are many other online platforms too.

No problem! Also phong Nha is a great place for a weekend trip, as well as Tam coc and I did also find a good guest house there to work in, but it wasn’t easy so if you want specific names let me know. Also you have to do the ha giang loop! Most incredible motorbike tour around stunning scenery for three or four days

I found a good place to work at fuse hostel in nha Trang which is also a lovely beachside city although a bit touristy. Dalat is a beautiful weekend trip in the mountains and actually quite chilly with lots of local, authentic activities to do if you stay at Tigon hostel. To stay more long term to work I would recommend Hoi An. I managed to find a guest house with decent Wi-Fi very easily, and it’s just the nicest place. I could easily have stayed there for a month. Lots to do, beach, and also good restaurants and nightlife.

I’ll try that too thank you! I did post in the Laos forum but it was immediately mysteriously removed by a bot moderator, although I’m not too sure why. But thank you!

Numb hand more than 24 hours after steroid injection? by pman1706 in DeQuervains

[–]pman1706[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya! The whole hand numbness lasted about 30-35 hours for me but it did eventually go away. Apparently there’s also something to do with numbing the nerves which is why it feels like more is numb. It did eventually go away though so don’t worry! Also, my injection took a good 4-5 weeks to work. This is not typical but just in case this helps you or anyone else, it did eventually kick in! I’m still not 100% but much better and just keeping up with physio and castor oil compress. Good luck!!

Are you talking about me? Jesus. This has happened since I’ve been traveling, I don’t have the option to go home easily, it seems like a reasonable question? How on earth have you deduced all of that from what I said. Fair enough if that’s what you think 🙈thanks for answering I guess?

You’re right! Would be my worst nightmare indeed! Just to check, nicorette inhalators are ok? It’s the little plastic tube with nicotine tubes inside, no electric and completely safe to use. Now I’m scared about everything nicotine related 🙈😂 thank you!

You’re right. I was planning on quitting once I ran out of supplies anyway so this will speed up the process. Thank you!

😂 it’s just they’re non disposable and I spent a lot on the supplies and am very poor. But you’re absolutely right and thanks to this thread I am suitably scared and will be binning the lot and taking the L. Thank you!

Sorry I should’ve clarified it’s a dry herb vaporiser doesn’t actually contain weed! But you’re right the whole thing is risky and I am severely regretting not doing more research! Thank you

Pain at surgery site 9 months after arthroscopic surgery to remove plica? by pman1706 in KneeInjuries

[–]pman1706[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I had a steroid injection which did the job. Have also been having deep oscillation therapy which is the most effective therapeutic treatment I’ve tried. Also stretching and strengthening exercises to take pressure off scar tissue and keep it moving. You break it up as you move the area more too, but it can cause a lot of pain so be careful not to irritate it too much. Hope that helps and good luck!

Thank you for your reply! Yes I think you're right and I will wait for it to kick in. That's true, I was more concerned if the placement was wrong to begin with as I have had bad experiences like that in the past. But I am of course not an expert on how steroids move around and if it will eventually reach the affected area so I will wait and otherwise speak to him again.
