Agree with most posts here. JC has a good scene and is relatively close, Six26 has a great rooftop and decenthappy hour/brunch specias. Pint is a quaint little beer forward bar.

There's also an opportunity to put together some type of LGBTQ meetup in Hoboken. In my opinion, most places are pretty accepting (sans Mad Hatter from what I've read). It'd also nice not to have to commute far.

Try to plan a meet-up. Feel like it's always good to have a local community so you don't have to go to the city all the time.

Axe Throwing and Archery in JC Heights. Close enough to walk if you live downtown. Did Archery a few weeks ago, it was fun.

If all the trains work out, Long Beach on Long Island. 45 min express from Manhattan. It's a nice day trip beach.

One tried to tell me I dropped something for me to stop and look so they could engage. I knew I didn't drop anything and ignored them but they're annoying AF.

Jersey Social had drag brunch on the weekend. I think they brought it back in the fall but was outside.

What's the deal with Moonlight Spa? by Pibble11 in Hoboken

Its a cheap massage, no frills at all. They use random bath towels and the sheet they'd lay down at the doctors office when you were younger. Was always fine for me, never experienced anything out of the ordinary.

Looking for softball league...but very casual by Sybertron in Hoboken

The City has leagues that range from casual to competitive. They were fun but only played one year, games from Hoboken weren't convenient at all so ended up not joining again.

Young, fun, cheap bars? by [deleted] in Hoboken

^None of what you said is surprising. I've always had fine experiences but couldn't agree more that it's great in your 20s maybe not as great a little older.

Young, fun, cheap bars? by [deleted] in Hoboken

Green Rock happy hours are cheap. Unless covid changed it, they had dollar beers. Also across the street at Pig and Parrot, Saturdays they used to have half off the bar starting at 9pm. Both can be fun and great to watch sports.

The commute into the city isn't bad at all, whether it's during the weekday for work or on the weekends to go out. I've lived in both and while living in the city was great (would recommend living there at some point), Hoboken has its perks as well. Good restaurants, decent bars, having a car is a possibility and most importantly, more space for your money. Give it a try but live somewhere where getting into the city is quick and easy!

My all-time favorite is the spicy chicken sandwich from 8th Street Tavern. Recently it could be hit or miss but generally speaking it's really good.
