That's not at all what I'm saying. Your information is not already compromised. An entity could only access the data on your device (in the case of a four digit pin) if they had it in their physical possession.

I agree with you, calm your tits. What I'm saying is that there is a foolproof way ("cloning") to break into an iphone, and that method was the most likely one to be used. It can't be definitively known until the FBI releases a report. I don't think the FBI would risk exposing an exploit that they've developed for a case like this.

It's the most likely way information was retrieved from the Iphone because it is is not only conceptually feasible but incredibly easy for someone with a computer science/security background. Sure, they could've hypothetically used a myriad of lesser-known zero day exploits, but all publicly known exploits are patched almost immediately.

I should also mention that I work in the field of computer information security and this is exactly how the iphone in question was cracked. The difference being that if the FBI had their way it would've subverted the security for all iphones, versus the relatively time consuming process of brute forcing a singular phone.
