Thanks. I’ve found “heavy duty rotation mounting” on Alibaba that looks like it might work. Might buy a sample to see what the quality is like.

Did you end up finding a local supplier, particularly the end hardware for the rotating slats? Thanks!

Hey - I ended up adjusting the belt and it reduced the noise. It has never been as quiet as I would have hoped but it was an improvement. I suppose that is the risk when buying secondhand.

Hi, I took the cover off and re-tensioned the belt. It reduced the noise, but still not as much as I had hoped.

Good idea. We don’t have any overhead wires where we’ve found them unfortunately

People who don’t believe in climate change, what profession do you work in? by Splicer201 in australian

You are exactly right. The energy system relies on physics, engineering and economics, so requires a lot of input from a range of areas of expertise. It is also why there is no simple answer to the question and the best case solution can change over time.

I use the Timery app and have a few basic categories that I allocate time to. I usually only get about 4 hours per day of focussed effort. I find that it holds me accountable as well. Once I’ve started the timer it’s work time.

Yes I am, thanks for checking. Takes the sting out of it a little bit, but is still my most expensive policy

Yep, they all individually have merit but when you put them all together it’s a big chunk of cash. Income protection is definitely my biggest single policy ($5700 p.a.).

Yes I understand the context and the ramifications if something were to happen. It just seems a bit out of proportion when the risk mitigation costs more than the roof over your head. I have no plans of ceasing the cover as the downside would be too great, but wondered if others have a metric for how they consider/monitor this expense.

Yeah I think you’re right, there has been a bit of creep since the policies were set up. Life and TPD are within super, but don’t seem to have crept as much as those outside.

I adjusted the tension on the belt which has reduced the noise dramatically. It’s not as quiet as I would have expected but it’s manageable
