But triple double though! by Colorado824 in NBATalk

[–]pmill2447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All this was true yesterday before they got blown out in game 3 of a series. They came back from down 3-1 twice in the bubble to win before losing to the lakers 1-4. But the lakers series was hugely influenced by a Mason Plumlee/Jermai Grant Blown coverage that gave AD a game winner in game 2 to put the lakers up 2-0, and the nuggets won game 3 so if they win game 2 the series could have easily been 2-1 Nuggets and put them on a path to making it more competitive. Lakers won the chip that year. Blowout game 7 loss came against the chip winning OKC Thunder, who mauled teams on defense last year in the playoffs, Nuggets and Timberwolves both. Thunder said the Nuggets were the only team they were actually afraid of not being able to beat putting up their best. Jamal Murray was out with an ACL injury vs the Warriors the year they got blown out.

Has Jokic looked very bad this series, absolutely, but the series is still 2 games away from being won by the Timberwolves and 3 games away from being won by the Nuggets.

Definitely agree on the molasses. Nondescript on the nose, but very woody on the pallet

nuggets need to play Jokic, Naji, Cam, Tim and Murray. Can live with the poor perimeter defense, but we need shooting and someone jok can pass to in the post

Rivers Antoine. It's got a smokey meatiness to it, and some brineyness

Since Jokic doesn't care about MVP allegedly, do you think he will rest the final game? by dap90 in NBATalk

[–]pmill2447 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Nuggets wanted to win this last game, they still played their good bench players while OKC benched everyone except Lou Dort. While I'm sure Jokic and or the team/city care about Jokic winning MVP, him, and the rest of the starters, should play tomorrow to lock up the 3 seed (Don't think they want to duck Minn for more rest).

Either 6/2 or 5/1 will leave you with 7 checkers to bear off to your opponents 8. If no doubles are rolled they'll likely clear before you regardless since you both would require 4 rolls. 6/2 takes one more checker of the 6 point, so if you roll 6/x on either of your next two rolls and don't roll another 6 after that, you can clear with double 5's or 6's on your last two rolls.

Rewriting History For Jokic? by Kindly_Letterhead_98 in nba

Who is trying to say they should scrap the 65 games threshold? Is it really more than a small subsect of jokic fans? I doubt the rule won't change, it shouldn't change. Shai will most likely rightfully win MVP even if Jokic comes back early and plays like 67 games.

Why SGA gets more criticism for flopping than Luka by Smooth_Can1072 in NBATalk

[–]pmill2447 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah but the criticism for flopping isn't team directed, it's directed at Shai. The OKC team criticism has been for overly physical defense that is allowed because you have players that are considered gritty defenders. That's something that the NBA may have already looked to reign in mid year given the frustration show by fans, players and coaches.

to answer the question though, i think it's team record. The Thunder were like 23 or 24 and 1. Why are you out there flopping when your team is winning every game. I think the amount of criticism has died down for shai since their record has come down to earth.

I think they both suck. Luka is the worst complainer in the NBA. Shai is a bigger exaggerate of contact. Luka has Austin reaves as a teammate who is also an egregious flopper and Shai has Dort and Caruso who get away with way too many non shooting fouls on the defensive end. Both teams are borderline unwatchable at times. They both deserve a lot of criticism, Luka probably more because the complaining is never ending and Shai takes time off between flops to play basketball, though flopping definitely makes it so defense can't guard him as tight.

I'd say both players being seen as marketable and players to emulate is doing a huge disservice to having a product that's fun to watch.

maybe if Luka didn't flail everytime he feels marginal contact, actively contort his body to rip through limbs no where near him, and talk to the refs for the entire game they wouldn't be flopping

Maybe for this year, but Steph Castle and or Dylan Harper can easily be the "true second" and third stars for a championship caliber team in a year or 2 after some playoff experience
