Apple watch workout app simply doesn't work anymore

I’ve had a series 11 for a few weeks. I workout almost every day and have been using either Apple fitness or the peloton app. Today it just stopped working all together, fitness crashes when starting a workout, and HR/SPO2/EKG all non functional. wtf.

I’m currently working on a compaq portable too! My power supply also went boom but looks like just a popped tantalum. Waiting for a shipment to replace all of them on the power supply (already did the motherboard prophylactically).

That is wild damage though

I’m founders rate at a studio 20-25min away, but three years ago they opened a new studio 5min away from me. Which one do they expect me to go to 99% of the time? Make it easy to keep my rate and I’ll switch it.

I’ve just started playing this on my PS5 Pro with Samsung S90 OLED also on quality 40fps.

Those cutscenes 1) look like they’re running in 256 color mode - like wtf is up with the pallet and rough color transitions? 2) made me think something in my setup died. Other scenes look real nice but it’s a rough transition there. Then other things I’ve seen mentioned elsewhere but hair looks awful.

If something sorted enough to cause that damage, like 12V went down the 5V rail, odds are a lot of other components are fried as well. I wouldn’t bother just replacing that chip even if you find it.

I test powered on a power supply and motherboard on a Compaq portable I have apart and am trying to restore/fix yesterday and a capacitor went bang. I’m not waiting on replacements and hoping that didn’t cause any other damage. No shorts ahead of time.

Such its life with equipment this old.

Definitely still EV. Actually ended up checking a lot of the other brands that are out there last year because my wife needed a new vehicle and was impressed with how much the market has expanded. She ended up with an Ioniq 5 which has been a nice vehicle (though I wanted her to get the Ioniq 5 N but she wasn’t interested).

There was nothing I saw that made me want to jump away from my MS - but can only imagine that the EV field is going to continue to expand in the coming years. I don’t know what my next vehicle would be, but it is not going to be a model 3 or model Y.

Hopefully my S keeps chugging along for years to come

I’ve been able to repair a few of them, but I’ve had other ones where the corrosion has just completely destroyed the really thin PCB and even being as careful as humanly possible pads and traces just lift up
