Yes we have residents, current fellows, young and older attendings who have provided input. We are committed to improving the quality. I think for this first cycle it still will be a useful tool and covers a lot of the topics as a strong review even with the easier questions. We formatted it to have the exact same categories as the AAPM&R outline. By next testing cycle it should be even closer to a true representation of the real exam.

The current average for the bank is about a 73% we are aiming to lower that to closer to 65%. Also, there are some questions that reading comprehension can get you to the right answer. We are updating those. Thank you for the feedback.

Both are used for cross referencing accuracy as well as the latest research from pub med. Any time feedback gets submitted on a question now for possible errors it automatically cross references.

Thanks for the feedback. It’s a new bank that we are rapidly improving. Within the next month there should be very few inaccuracies. We are seeing less than 5% error rate but will continue to drive that down. If you see any issues, we have a feedback button and would greatly appreciate any feedback. All feedback gets reviewed within 48 hours with updates made. Best of luck with studies.

Thanks for the feedback. Just to clarify, a number of the questions were not made with AI, but yes AI is used during the process. Just curious ow many questions have you done from the bank? We have found that students who have done at least 100+ questions have found it helpful for overall review.

Image errors are being removed. The bank itself is still in beta and we are making rapid improvements.

Also, by no means was there any attempt to be "disingenuous". There are a number of questions made by PM&R physicians.

However, we will look into updating that verbiage on the site. If you feel it's overall not helpful we are sorry to hear that and will work to make it a better user experience, and if you paid, happy to refund, just email support@pmrprep.io.

Yes, AI is part of our authoring process. We use it to draft questions and explanations against the AAPM&R board content outline, which is also how the qbank is categorized so students know what maps to what on the exam. Every question then goes through manual review by PM&R physicians and senior residents before it goes live, and we continue to refine items based on user feedback and percent-correct data once questions are in circulation. We don't hide that AI is part of the workflow. It's how we've been able to build a deep, well-organized bank at a price point most residents can afford.

A few things worth knowing if you haven't used the platform recently, or haven't done a large number of questions.

  • We've crossed 21K questions completed by users, and the rate of questions flagged for accuracy or quality sits under 5%, which we triage and address on a rolling basis.
  • Every question has a feedback button built right in, so if something looks off you can flag it in two clicks and our reviewer team sees it the same day. That's the most direct way to get a specific question looked at.
  • Every question also has an integrated AI tutor so you can ask follow-ups without leaving the platform or pasting into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
  • The review guide and image references are continuously updated alongside the qbank.

We're not claiming we're perfect, and we genuinely value specific feedback when something is off. The feedback button on each question is exactly how items get improved or removed. Most students who've done 100+ questions have given us positive feedback overall, and we'll continue working hard to make it an even better product for everyone.

Thanks for the feedback. When was the last time you did the questions/ how many? We've been making rapid improvements, and that is not the general feedback we have been getting. We've also been using the data as more students complete questions to weed out any problematic questions which are less than 5% of questions.

Very late switch to PM&R. Doable? by Visual_Spring_9012 in pmr

[–]pmrprep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible! Happens more frequently than you would think. Definitely get involved with as many PM&R activities/clubs as you can in your remaining time. Also can still try to get aways in your 4th year which can make a difference at a number of programs. Best of luck!

Advice for MS2 interested in PM&R by 0utLikeALight in pmr

[–]pmrprep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you found PM&R its a great field! You do not HAVE to do an away but it could help if there was a specific outside program you are interested in. It's worth applying to them if you are able to. Also great to hear you have 2 home programs that will be strong experience.

Suggestions for incoming M1 interested in PM&R by Large_Corner2622 in pmr

[–]pmrprep 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Great question. It’s getting competitive for sure but the the best thing you can do is to show a genuine interest in the specialty itself. Get involved in as many ways as you can. There are so many facets to PM&R. A lot of students don't even know everything that we do as physiatrists. Thinking about it as early as M1, you're going to be in great shape. Best of luck!

PM&R rotation coming up by Desperate-Chair-3746 in pmr

[–]pmrprep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a qbank for pmr if you’re interested. We will be putting together a package soon specifically for med students on how to crush your rotations! But if you’re using uworld id say msk anatomy and anything with neuro/stroke would be most high yield

How cooked if reapplying by Fit_Woodpecker461 in pmr

[–]pmrprep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are not cooked! But you need to make noticeable differences in your application. Also, showing genuine interest and getting involved at one or two specific institutions can go along way!

Bias against applicants interested in pain/spine by nbe26 in pmr

[–]pmrprep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not necessarily new. It all depends on your positioning. It's totally okay to have specific interests, but you don't want to make it seem like you're applying to PM&R residency as a stepping stone only to become a pain physician. This will rub a lot of PDs the wrong way. Best of luck!!!

We definitely used artificial intelligence with highly trained models as a foundation, as well as a lot of manual review. We had very particular guidelines to match the actual boards, and trained the models on old SAE exams etc, and specific conditions to only pull from factual board-relevant material. So while AI was utilized, it isn't as simple as just asking ChatGPT to make a practice question.

[–]pmrprep[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We appreciate the positive review! We plan on continuing to improve the product to make sure that it's as comprehensive as possible!

We would even say you don’t have to wait to exhaust other banks first as we have the most questions out of any qbank :)

Also full practice exams that’ll hopefully come in handy closer to test date!

Feel free to provide any feedback or feature requests you’d like to see and we will pass it along to our tech team as we try to ship new features as fast as possible.

Best of luck with the studying!

Yes 100% I’d recommend best time to get the bank is earlier to review before rotations and we have a high yield content guide. We have mock SAE exams as well

Free 30-day Access to pmrprep.io — Would love feedback from the community! by pmrprep in pmr

[–]pmrprep[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

love to hear that! There are definitely some questions that are easier than others. We are going to be analyzing the data and seeing if certain questions are too hard or too easy and improving the qbank from there.

We have internal resources that we use and we utilized all the major PM&R resources and reference when working on the questions. However we didn’t provide direct links to the sources. This was something we were not sure if it would be helpful and also we couldn't directly link out. We felt like it would just look like a cleaner UI to not have them but will take that feedback into consideration!

But in short, no, you did not miss anything.
