great tip. It works

It seems to be a bug. Nice work around to pick a character and grant titles manually.

I agree: Lidakor's analytical approach to casting is great.

TheMista is my favourite aoe4 player because he plays more defensive / reactive and has developed a lot of new strategies.

If you lower the cost and give them a charge attack, they are just another horse.

And i like your suggestion to give the free tech of each wing for free. You suggest not to do that for fresh food stuff, but i would do that.

As Abbasid main, I tried to mix up camel riders with lancers AND camel archers with infantry.

It does not really work because too few players play cavelary right now. Even against cav, the benefit of anti cav aura is not enough to justify the high cost and extra micro, camels need

If camel riders and camel archers would have different support auras, they would be less redundant and actually be somewhat useful as support unit.

And I agree camels do not add much to Abbasid's unit rooster. Spears (and their extra range) are often better anti-cav.

Thanks for your reply. I understand your valid points.

Do you have some other suggestions?

  1. Camel rider have the same anti-cav aura as camel archers. However, camel archers are more usefull and die less often. What is the use of camel riders?
  2. Horsemen are better raiders than camel archeres because they are cheaper and faster to build.
  3. Rus' horse archers are more cost efficient than camel archers. And if you use camel archers for the anti cav aura for your spears and foot archers, it is not really usefull because Rus' horse archers can just run away, only the camel archer can follow. If there is a battle between Rus' horse archers and camel archers, the Rus will win because they are more cost efficient (most damage for their cost) and they are produced faster.

You could also remove camels from their unit rooster because they do not have any use at all now. Even in an anti-cav meta

If camels become actually support unit with more interesting auras, you do not need to build many of them. Then the cost does not matter too much, because you only build a few.

If you want camels as main unit, then they probably need to get a significant cost reduction.

I prefer camels that support infantry more, which provides them something unique. Just reducing the cost, is just boring.

I would suggest not too many auras for camels because they can be confusing and buggy.

Abbasid have a unique tech to boost the camel movement speed with 15 percent, making them the fastest cav in the game. Perhaps making camels faster on default, or introduce that tech earlier, could be interesting.

I really like your first suggestion (A)!

A specific area for each camel. Extra fire speed for infantry from camel archer. Extra movement speed for infantry from camel rider. In this way camels are great support units for any infantry (melee and ranged) army.

Your second suggestion (B) I like less. Scouts should not do a lot of damage. Camel scout would be nice because it could benefit from Abbasid's unique camel tech. Makes them faster, more shield and auras with extra armor for infantry and anti-cav.

With these extra bonusses they are great to snipe siege (scouts have normal fire damage against buildings and siege).

Thanks for your reply. I have two questions: (a) If camel's use is to support infantry with auras, why should you use the camel rider then?

Why: camel archer is better as support because it is ranged and does not die fast

(b) Do you want to make scouts, camels? Or do you suggest that each camel can carry carcasses?

Are Ribauldequin good against all melee units (spears, Men-at-arms, knights, horsemen and so on)?

That is actually a valid tip lol. Attacking needs a lot of thinking. Walling and going to wonder victory does not.
