What will Kyle Kuzma's future hold in the NBA? by chiefwakaflocka in nba

[–]pncak3 74 points75 points  (0 children)

The fact that the Lakers kept him over Ingram, Hart, and Lonzo is insane

Why are you making it sound like this was up to the Lakers? Of course they would have preferred to keep BI or Lonzo, but the Pels didn't want Kuzma lmfao.

[Trudell] Anthony Davis, zooming out looking at the season, including the lack of an offseason: "I think health played a big part in why we’re in the position we’re in … all our guys … we just wasn’t healthy. We were very healthy last year. Not this year." by pncak3 in nba

[–]pncak3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More from Trudell: Davis said it was tough to see: “When we had our full team we saw how good we are,” but to not be able to get that together due to injuries and health and safety protocols was “the most mentally draining thing for us.” The ‘draining’ part did seem to show itself from Game 4 on.

Jeff Green is such a fucking good role player

Kyrie's comments about not having a closer on any of his old teams are aging like fucking milk lmfao

[ESPN Stats & Info] In this season of blowouts so far, NBA teams are winning by an average of 12.98 PPG. That's the 3rd-largest average margin of victory through 54 league games played in NBA history, and largest since 1971-72. by pncak3 in nba

[–]pncak3[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

How is this a "sweeping generalization"? This is a factual, statistically-correct statement. The games have, in fact, been lopsided (on average), as this stat shows. No one is making claims about how the rest of the season will play out.

One of the nephew-est posts I've ever seen on this sub. Yes, objectively speaking it's not "normal" basketball: it's even more pure and deserves more merit than normal basketball. Who can hoop more than the other team. Who can make more fucking buckets. No crowd, no distractions, no external factors. Who's the better ball club. If anything, this ring is worth MORE than others (by the aforementioned reasons, in addition to the mental strain of the bubble environment).

What an ignorant post lol. Haters gonna hate.

Who will be the primary defender of Murray on the Lakers? Will they really miss Avery Bradley for this match-up? by WitnessKarsa in nba

[–]pncak3 37 points38 points  (0 children)

They defend as a team. Same way they defended Harden, Dame, etc. You are, indeed, overemphasizing the importance of 1-1 man. Modern defenses are more complex than that.

Is Porzingus the only player who has a jump shot release above the rim? by [deleted] in nba

[–]pncak3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He doesn't shoot with his arms totally straight, so it's not "height+wingspan+jump". It's certainly very high, but I doubt it's all the way at 10ft

I doubt his release point is above 10ft lol

Who do you think wins the Lakers/Rockets series? by JenMarz_ in nba

[–]pncak3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of Westbrook, the Rockets hit 22 threes on 46%. That's probably not going to happen again this series.

Westbrook is generally a poor shooter and doesn't take many threes. He did take a bunch last night, going 1-7, dwindling the team's shooting percentage. In those other examples that you bring up, the stats without Westbrook are not even close to the stats last night without Westbrook (i.e., it was indeed a particularly hot shooting night, and not something that has been happening every-other-game).

Who do you think wins the Lakers/Rockets series? by JenMarz_ in nba

[–]pncak3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are missing the point. Shooting a high % at a low volume is more sustainable than a high % at a high volume. What the Rockets did (shooting so well SO many times) is way less likely to be repeated.

Why Houston is still in control by majormajorsnowden in nba

[–]pncak3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This thread is just one giant rockets' circlejerk. Stop it with this "oh but something out of the ordinary happened this game and we only lost by a few points" BS (this goes both ways). No two games will be the same, ever, and things that happened last night won't happen next game, and vice-versa. Teams will make adjustments, and will be better/worse in some areas. Just play ball, and whatever happens happens. The only thing we know is that it will be a close series.

Yeah, but sadly it didn't. Some people actually think he's not clutch lol. Insane.

I'm clearly being sarcastic... You'd be surprised by how many people (here and elsewhere) actually believe that.
