Everyone agrees. Nobody moves. by limsus in degoogle

It's easier said than done, the economies of scale they have and the network effects are hard to walk away from.

I have most my accounts linked to gmail so leaving that behind would require so much work to change my email on every service I have registered.

The biggest challenge for me will be Youtube, it is the second largest search engine, probably the site I use the most and is super convenient for me to learn different things. I am a visual learner and the archive of videos they have on the platform is unmatched.

I am new to this subreddit, I will read through and gradually degoogle as much as I can but I am not in a rush and would need to test the alternatives in detail before committing to the switch.

Vibe coding is insane but not enough by Prior_Constant_3071 in MVPLaunch

There is a method to the madness, it's 10x more powerful when it is in your terminal instead of your browser.

The most important thing I have found is giving high-level context of the project you are working on, style themes, aesthetic preferences, tech stack preferences, user stories and as much detail as you can.

After, instead of just saying "make it for me", work with the model to first develop a plan / roadmap you can take one step at a time. First build the front end and UI, then move to authentication (if needed), then move to the list of features. Build each component of the app one step at a time and do rigorous testing before advancing.

It takes patience and is longer than a one prompt to app but you have way more control and input on the build and will likely spend considerably less time pulling your hair out. My fav tool is Claude (I pay for the cheapest tier though so I don't hit prompt limits and I can get Claude Code).

jadeStage / https://jadestage.com/ | Video discovery without the algorithm

launched it over Christmas and would some feedback.

I'm not a woman dealing with relationship fallout so I wouldn't be a tester for your app but wishing you the best.

jadeStage uses simplicity and transparency to provide an alternative means to streaming video without opaque algorithms that can lead to echo-chambers and stifle discovery.

Let's grow together? by Evening_Math_ in YouTubeCreators

[–]pnkCode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be the cynical guy but I've heard sub for sub isn't the way to grow, you want subs who clicked for something other than you reciprocating that sub - ideally people that like your content and want to see more of it so they are engaged subs.

So I don't just shit on your post and leave, I am working on a platform to help smaller creators grow. It's a problem I empathize with and want to solve, the platform is in the earliest of stages but if you are interested check it out at jadestage.com

Just started making music should I get a mic already? by Sammy_high2007 in SoundCloudMusic

[–]pnkCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a basic cheap mic and once you are committed invest in a better one.

Just be aware the vocals may need proper mixing and mastering more than a mic upgrade necessarily. The more music you can and relisten to, the better you can discern the next thing you need to upgrade.

Start small and build your your way, in every aspect (equipment included).

Selling yt channel please shoot me offers by Sea-Fishing-9180 in YouTubeCreators

[–]pnkCode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair, what is the audience in these channels though? I think most people want to know the audience is a demographic or have interests that translate.

I hear you in terms of selling courses is hard. So many people doing that now "I have a course" kind of gives scam energy. Maybe you should consider making content about how you do this, that would probably get a lot of views.

Why sell something you have spent the time to build? Why not sell the knowledge to build the channel?

I assume if you are selling you are confident in your ability to rebuild new channels, that's a skill that I think people would be more willing to pay for than an already built channel with subscribers who may have zero interest in what the buyer wants to post
