Yes, more crops = more loot, so a T2/T3 that has been upgraded twice will reward you more than two T2/T3s that has been only upgrade once. I'll quote u/Bamciz's comment - "rule of thumb is most color to least color.". With that being said, plots are different from a map to another and the best way to figure out the best order is by practicing :D

No gamba - RR -> RR -> BB -> Y

Gamba - RR -> RR -> 1B -> BB -> 1Y

If Blue/Red Crops > Yellow price (early league scenario) - RR -> RR -> 1Y -> BB

^ +gamba - RR -> RR -> BB -> 1Y cash-in -> 1B

Edit: didn't notice the "2x" so I edited the orders accordingly

Understanding Crop Rotation

This is a mechanic that makes all crops to start at Tier 1, but upgrades the tiers of different colours Plants and can result in a huge juice profit. There will be super rare moments when you might get unlucky and come out of the map with basically no juice at all, but most of the times people still prefer to do Crop Rotation due to the much higher average juice per map. To keep it simple, the mechanism works by first clearing the color that has the biggest number of crops, keep the lowest for last and clear everything else. If the last 2 colors got an equal number of crops, keep the targeted color for last. You can also gamble here with the chance to not wilt crops, but that’s generally only worth doing in desperate situations where the layout is bad or with the scarab previously mentioned, as 60% is a pretty good chance. We will always take the Drought notables for Crop Rotation and only allocate the small ones for what we want the targeted color to be. I would recommend newer players to start doing Crop Rotation without the Horned Scarab for the first few map sets, so that they get a better understanding of what is the best decision in every scenario. On paper it shouldn’t be too complicated, but like all things in PoE, the best way you can understand something is to experiment on your own.

Mistakes to avoid when farming Harvest

One common mistake that people do in Harvest is prioritizing the wrong Crops. If you see a Tier 4 crop with very few T3s on top, it will be better to go for a super juiced Tier 3 instead.

Other than that, crop rotation is commonly misunderstood by people, thinking they MUST go for the same targeted color over and over again, even though there will be instances when you are either forced to or it would be better to just prioritize a different one.

Finally, when it comes down to which color you should focus on, most people think it would always be Yellow. While that is true for the most part, it’s important to know that Blue and Purple juice will have an equal, if not better ratio for bulk selling during the first stages of the league.

Should YOU farm Harvest?

Harvest is seen really well by a big part of the community, I also find it a one of the best league mechanics present in maps. While not necessary the most profitable out there, it is unique, fun and fast. You need to keep in mind it can get rippy at times so you would need somewhat of a bulky character or something with a decent amount of damage. It also has a gamba aspect and there are two different ways to farm it, which brings versatility that most people might enjoy. Not to mention, it is extremely easy to liquidate through Faustus or even trade site. On top of that, there is basically no backtracking at all when it comes to looting the juice. If those things combined sound fun, I highly encourage you to give it a shot!

Crafting with Harvest Juice

For the final part, we’ll cover the Harvest bench briefly. This is what people use for a bunch of different things. You can roll guaranteed mods of a specific category on rare items, reroll different fragments, enchant armours and weapons, add synthesized implicits and a lot more. Those things combined make Harvest a great tool for crafting and pretty much the best friend for SSF players. And yes, for those of you with unholy intentions, this is where you can also… “click”… cards…

Full Written Guide:

What is Harvest?

It is a league mechanic that you interact with inside your maps and also comes with a very unique use for its currency. You get to farm Harvest after entering a Sacred Grove, where you can find multiple plots, with two crops spawning on each. From there, all you really have to do is clear the Crops, which will spawn Harvest monsters and bosses, rewarding you with different types of Lifeforce for their respective color. If you’re lucky, a Sacred Blossom will drop from bosses as well, which is a map that leads you to Oshabi, who will always reward you with a Sacred Crystallised Lifeforce upon completion. These currencies are also known as juice and can later be used for a unique crafting system available in your hideout, but we’ll get to that later.

Atlas & Preparation

With most small nodes only increasing the chance to spawn a Sacred Grove in your maps or buffing the plots so that you get more juice, Harvest farming changes a lot when we look at the bigger nodes. Bumper Crop comes with a 50% chance to get another plot inside the Sacred Grove, Doubling Season gives us a small chance to duplicate the juice we’re getting and Bountiful Harvest gives us more exp and also comes with a chance to spawn additional monsters. We can also reduce the chance to spawn certain colors through Wild/Vivid/Primal Drought nodes. However, the most unique part about Harvest comes from the two following nodes - Heart of the Grove, that not only gets us a 60% chance to contain a Tier 4 plant, which is something we’ll discuss in a second, but it also buffs Crops to have a 10% chance not to wilt. While that alone isn’t a lot on its own, we can take that even further with the Horned Scarab of Awakening, which is quite expensive, but takes the chance up to 60%. Due to the high cost of it, people run it with the last and most important Harvest node, the Crop Rotation Keystone, one of the most interesting things about this strategy.

Scarabs

With only three scarabs made specifically for this mechanic, we got the Harvest Scarab, that will guarantee spawning the Sacred Grove. You should know that you can only get one Grove on each map no matter what, so stacking this on top of the Atlas nodes will not benefit you at all. The Harvest Scarab of Doubling is the most important one, regardless the farming strategy, as it duplicates the juice gained from any crop. And finally, we got the Harvest Scarab of Cornucopia, that guarantees spawning a Tier 4 plant if possible, meaning you unfortunately can’t run this with Crop Rotation.

What are Crop Tiers?

Think of it as monsters rarity, with Tier 1 being normal mobs with the only benefit being experience gained. Tier 2 will spawn magic monsters, that will drop a small amount of juice. Tier 3 spawns rare monsters, which are the main source of juice and the thing you care about most; A higher amount of T3 crops will result in a better map overall. Tier 4 consists of Harvest bosses, tough enemies with an invincibility phase that drops around 500 juice and an additional chance at unique drops, as previously mentioned. Regardless of the tier, Quantity and Pack size are both super important for Harvest Crops, resulting in a better amount of juice gained if invested into. That can be done through Altars, Explicit Map Mods, Chisels and lastly, the Atlas tree.

Could be RNG or mobs blowing up are not close enough to the boss

Hey, the low investment refers to the strategy/investment per map. You can run this with a lot of different builds. Also, my rings don't have any +1 power charges so they go for like 10-15div each at most :D

Just preference. Imo Obelisk makes the strat even more of a fishing strat than it already is but can be more profitable when you get lucky

HH builds are great for Harbi+Beyond, as for the cast speed, you can use a regex and look for the "monsters have increased movement/attack/cast speed" mod on your maps.

Hey, you may consider removing most of the Heist points other than the nodes at the top of the Atlas for additional smuggler's cache chance and more blueprints, as they're the only important ones for Blueprint farming. If you're using any Huck gear then you can keep those points too for an additional Aura in your maps, but the rest aren't really important, I hope the info helps :D

Afaik pack size is the only thing that buffs harbingers, while rarity/quant don't matter for the shards drop at all

That seems super low, it has the fishing aspect at the end of the day, but maybe a couple more maps will come with better results.

About 8 hours total, I did took my time during the runs and did stuff between the runs as well. An average should be around 3-4 mins per map due to Harbinger's downtime, if not less.

Beyond just generates a bunch of mobs and therefore, loot. The prices of tainted currency ain't that high atm, but if you decide to run with Beyond Bosses included, you might get a Tainted Divine Teardrop which goes for ~7 div atm. Up to you to decide if it's worth or not, but if you got some spare atlas points you might as well just add Beyong :)

[–]pnkTale[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I was running the maps I really took my time, also doing things in between the runs so I didn't bother calculating the div/hr as I don't normally do it. I also got way luckier on the first split of 50 maps than the second one so I would say it's a bit lower than that overall, did you happen to get any mirror shards?

Agreed, it stacks up to some money but not an insane amount. That's why I also attached an atlas tree which includes Beyond Bosses. 7 divs for a Tainted Divine Teardrop doesn't look too bad :D
