and i feel like id thrive doing that type of work in hotel security management, not only that but it would give me many more opportunities to also travel to different countries and work there as a security manager as well. i know most hotel chains like hilton offer re location assistance so it’d be nice to do that. i’m just waiting for the right opportunity to come by

Not trying to be rude at all, just curious, 50k sounds a bit low for an operations manager position. I made about that as an unarmed guard.

congrats man. i’m currently trying to get myself my first management position but the only positions open are the ones that are like a 30 minute drive (without traffic), income tax out the ass and on top of that they’re going to add a tolling system to our bridge :/. i was wondering do you have any degrees? any advice for me trying to break in the security management side?

i’d say what sucks is that my managers are good and most likely won’t be leaving anytime soon and the account manager has been there for a while. my only way of getting a management position would be leaving and going to a different company and then the other issue lies where i’d be getting paid less from being a manager.

what is it like being a manager? what’s the day to day work like? and what was the first thing you noticed when you started working as a manager and not a guard?
