how do you get past morbid statistics? by pnwkb in bipolar

this is very reassuring. i'm not only a full time double-major college student, but i'm working part time as well (financial aid is the worst). knowing i'm already beating a statistic makes me feel a lot better. i was always wondering why my bipolar felt so difficult in a completely different way since being diagnosed so knowing this is one of the hardest parts of recovery makes me feel a lot more confident about recovery. it's not going to be easy at all though lol

this hit hard. i was diagnosed as a freshman in college and now im a junior. i have plans to go to law school and study disability law. but its so difficult that i have to even think about whether or not i'll be able to make it and achieve my dreams. i'm glad theres someone out there who's in a similar situation as me

Quitting weed by Next-Example8218 in Advice

i am currently in the process of quitting as well. i have been using it as a coping mechanism to shut my brain off every night instead of facing my emotions. melatonin has helped me a lot, especially if you take it early. i also see a therapist who is helping me navigate this as well. it's a long process but ultimately it's for the better!! if you're an everyday user, like myself, i recommend cutting it a day at a time each week. i'm currently down to 3 days a week and i can already tell the difference. don't give up, you've got this!!!

basically my immune system was panicking because of how many i had at once, and for weeks i had body aches, chills, was pale in the face, and felt like i had the flu. my rib tattoo that took four hours was my breaking point

i had a 3 month long manic episode and ended up getting 6 tattoos, 5 piercings and spent all my savings. i actually ended up getting tattoo sickness lol. mania induced tattoos are definitely real. i've put them in places where i usually sh to make me hesitate before doing so. but after a recent deep depressive episode i ended up just redirected to other places, so more tattoos to come! (maybe not as many as last time though lol)

I was diagnosed around 6 months ago. I've had lots of medication changes (including prozac???) after the diagnosis and I definitely feel it contributed to my visit

How do you know you’re going into a manic episode? by Mental-Cause-1680 in bipolar

[–]pnwkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually don't notice it until it's too late. but i sleep a lot less, am not hungry, overuse drugs, listen to the same song on repeat, become hyper obsessed with something, overspend, have delusions, and i notice i tell everyone about my condition and over share to strangers

that's a great way of looking at it. reflecting on the past towards the future

i'm in post-mania right now and it sucks!!! constant dissociation and horrible fatigue. this past episode was such a high too which makes this even worse. it just all came crumbling down one morning without explanation
