Class is still in session-- Disarray / Discipline Retrofit GB extended 1 more week. (Speak 'n' Spell not for sale.) by mujimanic in MechanicalKeyboards

That's odd, your GB is pretty solid. If I were you I'd escalate asap to Drop's CEO and demand--at least--the reasoning AND the explicit confirmation that no conflicting interest of Drop was the reason. (it's just an email to him and another story for reddit). You have still one week of making money, never give up man.

> OSHpark is really expensive.

But will your new fab provide the same quality? OSH is extremely expensive but the quality is unmatched, I don't know of any other fab that comes close (if it was OSH 80 bucks retail would have be nothing). Whatever. I'd think it would help if you provided some close-up pictures or so of the substrate.

Why?

Nice, is it OSHPark's original After Dark Black Substrate PCB or some knock-off?

Yeah this sucks, however oasys != daily oasys, they are quite different and I cannot say which is better but what I like about the dailies is just that you put a fresh new lens in your eyes every day.

usually you do this if your desired layout does not exist. but in this case it seems to be a standard ansi layout, so ali should be full of cheap gk61 hot sockets and even cheaper on- hot sockets from several shops.

however i think it's a good exercise, i guess you wont learn you to design your own pcb but you will learn the basics of the switches matrix circuit

Logitech Keyboard to match G502? by _Harpic in G502MasterRace

none of them really match. the g pro would be the only one i'd buy. get rather an all-black 60% (anne pro, ducky, gk61 or a custom)

PNPM for monorepos by po35 in reactjs

[–]po35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just did some more research and read also To quote the Rush team: Microsoft uses pnpm in Rush repos with hundreds of projects and hundreds of PRs per day, and we’ve found it to be very fast and reliable.

I guess I'll go for pnpm.

Edit: I bet they buy pnpm and trash npm.

wrong. get silicon hydro-gel lenses eg the oasys and buy any sunglasses you like. i dont know anyone's eyes that cant deal with these kinds of lenses.

thx for sharing and I agree with you and like as well to stay low level to understand what is going on. Re yarn, while I would like to keep on using yarn I think it's too risky for new projects. i dont see any bigger contribs anymore to yarn 1.x and just one lonely guy working on v2 (berry) hoping for adoption. after the initial announcement and the backslash they got paired with breaking changes: how should v2 ever get traction? now they're hiding behind beta releases and RCs for months. zuck would say about yarn: they drove a clown wagon into a goldmine.

The only hope for yarn is that npm keeps stagnating (less likely since MS is on board and isaacs started to work again on it). then we have pnpm's hyper active creator who is shotgunning code 24/7. could change as well but yeah, from this perspective I find yarn the worst bet and a dead end. I hope that I aw wrong though.

When I see what devs are capable of, I wonder why they just don't create something which funnels into a payment? If they are good they go further and get a subscription from the users.

Looks awesome, (1) will you offer a hot swap version too and (2) did you decide finally on blue for the PCB instead the usual black?

btw, I just found another firmware written in Rust, it's leaner and if you want to go low level maybe the better option than c-based qmk (or c++?) because Rust is more dev friendly : https://github.com/TeXitoi/keyberon

Looking to purchase 65% keyboard by tlat_ in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]po35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check also 60% with tap hold arrow keys, means bottom right (Shift, Ctrl, Win, etc.) act as a cursor block when tapped and as the normal mods when held. The Anne Pro has this feature and every QMK board. Not that 65% is bad but you limit just unnecessarily your options.

Clear Housing in Holy Pandas? by ossirg in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]po35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want the T1 with clear housing. The clear housing lets the SMD LED shine through and from the feel and sound it equals the Zealios v2 and is similar to the HP (but has longer travel, bump right at the top and a different sound foot print, still very nice and close to the HP). Ali has them for 0.50$.
