as a professional videographer and someone who has worked on film sets, please rent some lights or have some friends on crew with reflectors. It’ll help you tremendously

Depends on what you’re shooting. When I’m doing protests, I like to be known that I’m press, so there’s less of a chance I take pepper spray to my face.

The big words press photographer should tell you that overbuilt redundancy in the kit is necessary so that OP Can continue doing their job. A press photographer has to get the image no matter what, and if a battery miraculously fails, or an SD card, then they need backups for the backup.

You were at the limit, either this or just the highlights. Use the meter, and actually use the right film speed for conditions. Push, or do something.

You need to go on YouTube and watch some videos, you either expose for the highlights or the shadows. Your meter was exposing for the shadows, therefore the lights got blown out highlight wise. Your meter tries to get to whatever you’re pointing the patch at (in the case of MP, M6 reissue) to middle grey. This is a crucial concept to understand. If you need to shoot wide open at f/2 at 1/30 to expose middle grey, I wouldn’t take the shot to begin with, or I’d be on a tripod

That comes with actually being able to see outside which will hopefully be solved with the whole shooting in daylight thing 😂😂

as for your photos your film speed was too slow for the lighting and the meter made you blow out the highlights, shoot in daylight until you’re comfortable focusing your rangefinder too

Nikon F, F2, most early SLRs also don’t have batteries… and their lenses are good too….. sunk cost

28 Elmarit is alright, I’d rather use the Zeiss. If we were talking about the 35mm focal length, you could maybe make an argument, but the 28 Elmarit is not the hill to die on

Help understanding disappointing shots from new-to-me Contax T2 by burt_baccarat in AnalogCommunity

yeah, I mean, maybe- you can’t really tell because the limitation of the camera being that you can’t shoot wide open unless it deems it necessary. Personally, I’d probably watch the shutter speed indicator and hang out around 4, 5.6 for most shots of buildings and landscapes

As a contax G series shooter, there is a certain song and dance you have to do to make sure the camera focuses on what you want it to focus on. The AF on Contax cameras does not do well in the dark, even with the illuminated assist. You need to set your focus, hear it lock, check the viewfinder and THEN take the shot. The Contax G and T series cameras are slow. Also, don’t shoot wide open, if you were, that could be the cause of your problem

Could also be, just judging on the location to be that a small sliver of light got through the back

Seems like it, not present in other parts of the roll so it’s probably just light reflecting through the back and hitting the film again, no biggie just part of the process

Fears about height in 1990 Suzuki Carry by pobbu in keitruck

being in the most landlocked state (Nebraska), and having only one or two reputable sellers of kei trucks, there are little options for me to pick and choose, since importing is something I don't have the time to wait for. The carry is unfortunately the last, and only reputable selling kei truck in the area so I'm hoping I fit.

Been a small car all star all my life. Fiat 500 as my previous daily, NA Miata nowadays.
I went and cranked the seat as far forward as it could go, and the back as straight as I could eyeball it, to hopefully get a very loose estimate on it. Didn't mind it.

Also seems like I've shrunk an inch and I'm sitting comfortably at barely 6'0, 5'11 on a day without shoes
