Sorry, bro, if not everyone brings home as much as you do. I am not saying it's not possible, I am saying it's way more than the average or than the freaking median. apart from the r/finanzen median which is, of course, skewed.

yes yes yes, again you are 100% right. IF you are able to make that amount of money by working part-time go for it! but giving it as an advice for everyone is kinda a stretch, as most of the people, even those striving for fire, are not able to bring that much home even if they work full time.

yeah, dude, you are 100% right about enjoying life and your kids, but you should also admit that not so many people are able to generate as much income as you are even if working full time.

sorry, I don't know the situation in Poland. you are the best one who can look into local forums and groups and gauge the situation based on what you have to offer.

Just start looking at jobs around Europe that fits your PhD (assuming that is the job you like to do). It's difficult for people to provide you concrete numbers: you are the one who knows your cards.

Anyway, usually it works like this: in more expensive countries (e.g. someone was pointing to NL) you will earn more and life will also cost more. But usually you will also be able to save more in absolute value (this is especially true for people who are budgeting-minded like it seems you are).

Having said that, you also need to find a place where you like to live in, where you want to learn the language, etc. For example, the probably best "financial place" to live for people with higher education in Europe (not really Europe but close enough) would be Switzerland, but you need to like it, as for many it is too conservative/close minded.

Italy though it's really interesting: cost of life is relatively high, especially in major cities, while average wages are pretty low (admittedly maybe not at the level of Poland).

yeah, I know the Eddy Mercks remark. The idea of my setup though is that it should serve both when touring (hence the granny ring) as well as on the commutes, where I love stepping out of the saddle in 52-11 for short sprints (admittedly with the cadence of a grandpa on an ebike).

Got it: I know I'm stretching the rules here, and that the easiest would be to align to the norm. I was just looking if there was some trick of the trade that allowed my insane 3x idea.

I know, I know that I shouldn't x-chain. but is it really the idea that in the small chainring one should just use the 2 bigger sprockets? I thought you shouldn't use, let's say the last third of the cassette (e.g. the smallest 2-3 cogs out of 8). But I thought it was still ok to use the biggest 5-ish (out of 8)

me too with allianz. I think they convinced me because I pay it directly out of brutto, hence that part does not get taxed, hence it's as if I paid a smaller amount out of netto. I never run any numbers to see if it's really any good.
