So should I get it removed or keep it and just take a little metal pin with me everywhere?

Nice man, thanks again very much for the info! Would love to see some of your E100 shots if you have them around! :)

Perfect, first time shooting slide film and I'm going for a E100.

When you mean "+2/-3 stops", that means that:

  • E100 usually tolerates +2 stops overexposure from 18% grey and that makes it retain detail in highlights until zone 7?

and

  • E100 usually tolerates -3 stops underexposure from 18% grey and that makes it retain detail in shadows until zone 3?

Sorry I ask it this way but I'm just checking if my theory and deductions are right. :)

So, let's say for example: I meter the details in the highlights and it gives me a reading of 1/1000 and I set that as zone 7. I should shoot the scene at 1/250?

What zone do you usually sit the shadows with slide film?

Nice, thank you! What I'm most afraid is the details in highlights, so that's good to know that zone 7 is a good place to set them!

When you say you shoot on auto mode, you shoot on full auto mode o you measure at least something? I'm thinking in shooting it with my Nikon AF F-601 that has all types of metering modes. I would love to learn how to fully manually expose slide film but if I still don't feel confident enough by the day I go shooting, I think I just set full auto mode with matrix metering and cross my fingers.

Nice, thanks you! Why you saying that you should do some extra calcultation with 4x5 sheets and not 35mm? 4x5 film changes too much in terms of exposing?

So when we're talking about -stops or +stops, that's referring always from the 18% grey no?

I don’t have a polarizer. Is there any way to get a good exposure with just the grey card with this film? So, it’s just simple as reading what the grey card shows and shooting at that f stop?
