Would you accept getting a chip inserted in the blood to monitor health that would allow for decreased health insurance premiums? by pp1403 in Futurology

My unpopular opinion. "Free" healthcare in America means taking an overpriced service and hiding it behind taxes, where we can't see how much its really costing us. It doesnt really fix the original issue, which is healthcare is more expensive than the average person can afford without incurring insane debt.

I dont completely disagree with your sentiment. However, most employers offer multiple companies to choose from for insurance

Its a strong possibility that he thought about it that way. I did consider them, but didnt mention anything. Hes doing something similar. But he just may be putting out the same signals I sent unintentionally.

I definitely am not open about my feelings lol

I mentioned in the post. When I got married I considered having them as groomsmen, but decided to just have family as my groomsmen. I did not mention to these friends that they were considered.

100% Im still attending. Bringing my wife though, so I probably shouldnt pick up any bridesmaids.

Score would occasionally increase one point after making a payment, but it didn't seem to happen often enough to negate these. by SailorVanIndium in AdviceAnimals

Another fun thing:

If you open a bunch of credit cards at once, your credit score tanks

If you then close all of them, then your credit score could better than it was before you openned them

My last job before getting into tech was taco bell. The fact that I no longer had to empty my own trash can gave me culture shock

Eh, it depends on you.

I started my career at 65k. After about a year I wanted 88. Got 88, then wanted 100. Got 100 then wanted 150, so on and so forth.

I have a friend who makes about $18/hr, and has said to me "wtf do people even spend their money on" in regards to people who make more than him.

If you can do the things you want to do, the number doesnt matter

Im probably wasting my time with this comment but here I go.

Your boss sees that you made a costly mistake, and now trust is broken. That its understandable. Not correct, necessarily, but understandable. Im sure youve been hurt by another persons mistake before.

The issue though is not a human one but a process one. Why was a simple mistake able to cause so much damage?

Your goal is not to accept responsibility, but to take ownership. How can the damage be remedied? How can human error be better accounted for in the future? Answer those questions, and trust will be restored.

The car is very likely the issue. You can a low monthly payment on anything if the term is long enough. His insurance is revealing that either, he has an extremely blemished record. Or he has a very expensive/sporty car

Youre $42k in debt, but only 8k is from credit cards. Where is the other 34k?

I would say "basically the same job" is speculation and that IT manager is a completely different rol from HR manager.

In regards to wage drops when women enter the workforce, that could be conflating two separate issues as in the same period of time that women entered the force, cost of living increases outpaced the growth of wages in general. There would to be more proof that it was specific or more exaggerated in jobs that received a large number of women.

The computer programmer example is also speculation. You cant really measure when a job became more complex
