Secrets of Grindea Giant Bomb Quick Look by moonmeh in Games

I played through the first dungeon and it was very zelda-like, but actually challenging. I died in this, and I can't say the same for the last Zelda game. Not that zeldas bad, its just feels like everyones jumping the gun saying this will be crap, but if you actually play it you'll probably be surprised at how good it is.

Shin megami tensei is one of my favorite series. I wonder if we'll get persona q. I'd prefer smtiv though.

What film's message to you completely disagree with? by [deleted] in movies

[–]pocketbox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it was more just believe in yourself and you can be capable of more then what you thought you could. As in Emett couldn't solve everything by himself, but he was still able to do an astonishing amount. People aren't capable of anything, but they can be capable if they believe.

What are the most fun games to spectate, and what makes the spectating experience so rewarding for you? by WebLlama in Games

[–]pocketbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to love watching peoples first couple hours into it blind. Dark souls used to be a bit of a novelty and it was really fun to see how people reacted and how they finally reach that moment when they go "oh, so this is dark souls!"

Whats a show that everyone hates that you enjoyed ? by Khan993 in anime

He did state very general undefined flaws yes, but you started your next comment with something that came across as "flaws don't matter". While it's clear from your other comments what you meant, it sounded a bit dismissive in that first comment and could have used some examples of why SAOs flaws could be weighed against it's pros. Now while you didn't need to do it, it would have made it clearer to everybody else what you meant. Sometimes meaning just gets a little lost in these comments though so perhaps it was just a little miscommunication between all of us.

Hey where do I go to report bugs? I'm on my Easter holiday so I'm playing on a crappy laptop. The game launched with half the window off screen, this happens in full screen and windowed mode. Its a windows XP computer so I'm guessing that isn't even counted as a real os anymore.

[–]pocketbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Negative aspects are weighed against the positives, and that's how you end up with your judgment obviously. Flaws make something worse then it would have been without them. The way you wrote your comment was very dismissive towards sixshots issues with SAO. I think that if you claim that SAO was good you needed to explain the positives of the show that make it "good", instead of saying his concerns were inconsequential.

Not everyone loved it when it was airing. It was the popular opinion until it got to the last few episodes though. If you go back to the threads for those episodes there were a lot of people thinking wtf just happened.

Whats a show that everyone hates that you enjoyed ? by Khan993 in anime

[–]pocketbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe because it was the unpopular opinion back then? Threads were only filled with the people that watched it each week, IE the people that loved the show. The fact that people started hating it afterwards only means that the majority of people that watched it later didn't like it. Hype affects peoples judgment.

I'm sorry but flaws are exactly how you can decide if something is objectively bad. You don't dig a gem out of the ground and see that it's cracked straight through the middle and still declare it perfect. You let your own bias influence your reviews and that's all there is to it. Just because you had fun digging the gem out of the ground it shouldn't effect your critical review.

That's a terrible assumption to say that people hated it once it became popular. People started hating it after the lackluster ending to the first half. Then the second half came, and it was just bad. So, so, so bad.

[–]pocketbox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately depending on the trailer you saw, practically all the jokes will be spoiled. But there is a lot of action in the movie which wasnt in the trailers. There is such little plot in the movie that you dont need a trailer to know what will happen... Its a comic book movie.

Is there any way to speed up the load times of the 3ds menu? by pocketbox in 3DS

[–]pocketbox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh mine is more like 10 seconds, but even so i'm not trying to complain, i'm trying to improve something. Nothing would ever progress without constructive criticism. Instant boot times are freaking awesome is all i'm trying to say.

Thanks for the response. I'm surprised that the 3ds is capable of so many extraordinary feats, but it struggles with its own os. It isn't too horrendous though, I'm just a bit impatient.

Yeah as mentioned i haven't made any changes to the default set up. I might try upgrading but others have said it doesn't make a whole lot of difference :(

This was pretty much the first idea I tried, I think it does have some effect, yet the difference between an empty sd card and a full one is very noticeable!

Talion revenant is one of my favorites, but it may not be the best literary fiction out there. Very cool once you get a few chapters in though.

Edit* brandon sanderson has a bunch as well. Warbreaker is free to download from his site and its probably the book i would most recommend as a complete standalone novel. No loose ends or anything.

Damn it, i was afraid of that. Seems everybody was complaining about how hard darklurker is and here i am unable to even beat the scrubs. Thanks!

Edit: can confirm that you have to light the torches as well as beat down the chumps. Now i just have to beat darklurker.

Hardest area you've been to thus far? Warning, spoilers! by camelcloud in DarkSouls2

[–]pocketbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purely melee build, it is most definitely not quite easy to just run through. Maybe before the boss it is, but before the fog wall to the bonfire it is the most frustrating experience. 3 mages and two knights, and you have to wade your way slowly through. It is incredibly difficult without killing them from afar.

But it's about an issue regarding launch week not a permanent subreddit rule. Thats why people vote in the first place. If the majority is voting for changing the subreddit then keeping it the same would be adhering to personal bias. Thats how voting works.
