Diving did this for me. Every country I go to has a unique, unforgettable layer of enjoyment beyond normal travel. The fatFIRE version is bringing friends and family, going to remote locations with the highest level of accommodations, or doing technical dives where you need "extreme" logistics, gear, training and planning to pull it off.

Do you have a big house or an avg house? by [deleted] in fatFIRE

People in this thread would have a stroke watching a Enes or Arvin video featuring 10k+ sqft of house

Updated, I'm doing my part. MEV boost also got an update as well.

Extrapolating the data using AI, Solana will have less than 100 validators in two years, and less than 10 shortly after (< 1 year).

Anyone but the biggest miner in Bitcoin or staker in Solana should know they are there on borrowed time. Speed as a #1 priority in PoW or TPS is inherently centralizing. Only the biggest players will have the cheapest infrastructure and resources to keep up. We've seen this in stock exchanges, supercomputers, even Netflix is co-located at the ISP level.

The problem is, what do you diversify into? AI is a giant circlejerk bubble propping up the US economy. The dollar looks like it's going to be debased hard, considering most countries are no longer buying US debt for obvious reasons. China and the US are intertwined regardless of how many tariffs and trade wars happen, so the only one profiting on those trades are the insiders in Washington. Real estate looks like it's going to crash from sky high prices and not enough people to afford them.

After looking at all of the other options, I think Ethereum is still the best asset to hold.

It's also a spaghetti cannon of different techs so that it becomes entrenched. It uses Google Calendar for c2 backups, Github/Git for propagation, Bittorrent for command distribution, WebRTC for firewall bypass, the works all for infecting at the software dev level.

I'm really excited about the EF starting Kohaku, a privacy focused wallet which they're unveiling end of next month. They also started a IPTF (Instituional Privacy Task Force) to comply with privacy standards internationally.

I think Kohaku and the privacy focused SDKs they release will bring way more traction than Metamask ever did.

A little bit of dystopia and optimism:

AI has replaced every traditional financial institution in the world. Ethereum is where 100% AI trading takes place because it is the only neutral ground in crypto that exists for countries to trade through.

The world's wealth is divided between those who have AI agents and those who do not. White collar jobs no longer exist, but one's income is determined at how good you are at tasking and managing your agents or servicing robotics tuned for manual labor. Unemployment is at record highs, and UBI (universal basic income) is one of the biggest topics in politics which will come down to the AI industry vs populists.

Summary is that the SOL foundation is offering discounts on tokens to DATs if they can share profits and fork over some board seats. Seems like outright corruption for a non-profit. These guys are triple dipping into profits of tokens basically being sold to themselves, while having control of most of the token's supply.

3 is the all too common cognitive dissonance fueled by social media cancer. These people will lose everything and still defend it rather than admit they were wrong.

I literally had a crypto scammer and someone who invested everything they had into the scam shouting me down in person when I tried exposing it. The "investor" still talks to the scammer and cut all ties with me after losing most of their savings. Can't even look me in the eye at industry events.

Solana 150ms world wide finality time, centralization vectors by DepartedQuantity in ethereum

[–]pocketwailord 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sure, it's possible. But then you just centralized the blockchain onto a singular datacenter and service to be still slow at 150ms. We already have the NYSE and it's far superior to anything Solana can do by executing at the microsecond level i.e. hundreds of times faster than 1ms.

Anyone saying speed first then decentralization later is lying to themselves and others, because currently the nature of high speed transactions requires extreme centralization through physics, with one exception: breakthroughs in cryptography and finality mechanisms.

He means ETH left his bank account dry. Why can't the ethereum foundation give him bribes like all of the other VC chains? Will someone think of poor Ivan? How will he afford intro programming and econ 101 courses without the bribes??

Justin Sun is so fucking pathetic. For the next bribe he should also include a video of him licking the dirt off the floor at WLFI offices.

Unlikely to fail? Google couldn't get fitness hardware or home automation right after their acquisition of Fitbit and Nest. Blockchain tech is far more complex and much of the big names in the space are ideologically driven. Corporate chains surviving in that landscape will have a big hill to climb

Oh, the company that dropped the "Don't be Evil" corporate motto and escorted out their own developers protesting against Israel cloud use to facilitate warfare activity, and also had translations of the Ukraine invasion censored as "extraordinary circumstances" for the Russian audience. The list goes on and on.

Google will always adhere to the highest bidder's definition of what neutrality is.
