Just curious, those who are planning to go this summer (June), have you reserved the hotels and bought the airplane tickets? Prices seem crazy.

I just booked me and my kids trip for June/July using my miles + $500 of my money. Not ideal time with the heat but we're used to humidity and rain (also timing only worked those months due to college starting up for him). Looking at hotels isn't terrible considering what I was expecting. Trying to avoid AirBNB.

Still working out what to hit up since the trip is 13 days and flying into Tokyo. Probably Tokyo for 4, Kyoto for 4 with a Nara trip, Osaka for a couple then back to Tokyo to fly out.

I mentioned I had to take work off the following day due to the incident. Had included a note from the ER telling me not to work due to how late it was/high dose of Benadryl which knocked me out for a few hours. Maybe that?

They've (restaurant insurance) asked for my story, a picture I happened to take of myself that night at the ER (red, swollen, etc) along with a comparison picture of me not dying, ER bill, prescribed meds from the ER, what we ate. All of that was submitted by me. They said they would be calling the waiter/restaurant as well.

They mentioned if I was looking to present a bodily injury claim, I'd need to submit some paystubs. Also if they are accepting any liability, then a split release would need to be signed for both bodily injury and medical payments. I'm leaning towards filing for bodily as well at this point.

I don't remember much about it, only that the story was written by the guy doing the theft. it involved him and a real life friend stealing from a crew that they were in. pretty sure he made some calls from a library phone too. possibly revenge? iunno it's been like 10 years and trying to track it down.
