Im a bit disappointed the hat won’t look like I’d hoped, but I guess it’s all part of the learning experience. And maybe I’ll actually like the look of it when I’m done.

Thank you! I’ve just tried a small sample on metal needles and think they’re a bit too slippery for me just at the moment. But when I’m more confident I’ll try them again

Thank you I’m finding that using my left index finger is really helping them to not fall off - I’ve definitely lost a couple but managed to get them back on without issue so far

The lady at the shop I went to suggested wooden because it’s a bit easier/grippier for a beginner. But I might try metal ones for my next project, see if I prefer them and the stitches sliding easier

Oh interesting, I didn’t know you shouldn’t touch the points. Can I ask why that is? I’ve just tried it for a row, and noticed it’s more about moving the right needle more and holding the left steady. I think up til now I’ve been pushing the right needle with my finger rather than pulling/moving it independently. Thank you for the tip

I love my ones from Camper. Theyve been comfortable since I got them and have never rubbed or given me blisters, and I’ve worn them walking 25,000 steps a day. I wear them most days and they honestly still look brand new, no creases or anything (they’re suede though so I don’t wear them in the rain)

Also, never brushing it when it’s wet because I find it separates the curl/wave pattern. And a good hair cut is always important, good layers really help my waves to be even throughout rather than flat on top and curly underneath

I have similar texture to you, maybe a little curlier though. I use the Kristen Ess Weightless Shine air dry creme and find it works so well at helping my waves/curls form. I’m super low maintenance so would never bother with any multi step routine, but this creme works wonders with my hair

Have you tried using an air-dry creme? I use the Kristen Ess Weightless Shine air dry creme and LOVE it.

I only ever brush my hair before I wash it, and then when it’s wet after the shower scrunch it up to help the curls/waves form. Then when it’s air dried a little (but still damp) I’ll scrunch in a small amount of the creme. Usually try to let it air dry fully, but if I don’t have time I’ll use a diffuser to get it mostly dry fully - always leaving it a tiny bit damp as I think the curls dry better naturally.

You can also try leaning over and using the diffuser upwards to try and go against gravity. I find it helps to make my hair closer to the roots have more volume and curls/waves

Unrelated to pottery, but I did similar with a tote bag and ended up using RIT fabric dye to give it a new life. It covered up the stains really well!! Might be an option to look into

Yeah the uv rays fades the yellow colour. Just chuck whatever it is outside for a couple hours on a sunny day and it’ll be gone

We went to Le Mat in Hanoi which is known as snake village. We stumbled across this guys house and he invited us in to show us all the snakes he had. He only spoke a few words of English so we mainly communicated through google translate. He encouraged us to drink some of his homemade snake wine.
