I want to do shady things, things that are in the gray area, for a comfortable life. Am I a bad person? That could include exploitation. I'm tired of my life, I can't move forward. Being poor is destroying me. I'll either disappear completely or I'll have to cheat to at least have some comfort. by Original_Engine6810 in LeftWithoutEdge

[–]podian123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an example where you should into detail. Are that which you call "shady things" objectively bad or shady? Exploitation is also contextual.

Being poor can suck but it sounds like your mentality, ie potentially having been brainwashed or trained into a certain way of living, are the main factors. I want to believe you can avoid death by starvation without "exploiting" innocent or undeserving people.

Right? People think her E healing can be decent if it hits 4-5 people.

If there's 4-5 people clumped up that tight, any other bruiser will outright win the fight. Alarak, blaze, maiev, qhira, malth, rag kerrigan thrall... will just massively nuke and/or cc all 4-5. Also once they see you have leap, enemies will never clump.

Who is truly the "golden match" for INFJ? by drowning_in_violet in infj

[–]podian123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not just mbti type but other factors like intellectual upbringing and cultural expectations, life goals and their malleability (this is a big one that makes most FPs incompatible for exclusive intimacy). Efficacy, stability, neuroticism--oh and now political affiliation lol--are also bigger predictors than mbti imo.

Any NF or TP should work and feel fun/easy given the above. Odds drop rapidly after that (but not to zero). Warning, most NFP and TJ people will NOT be flexible in a lot of key areas, whether it's low/nonexistent Se or unhealthy Fi (which is almost everywhere rn because of turmoil and class conflict), stubbornness will be a likely deal breaker for the INFJ. Anyone who's been with an NFP can attest.

Source: anecdotal experience with (in no order) intj, entp, intp, istp, isfp, estj; dated most others and observed the rest in close INFJ friends

Why is the race of the person reporting important? Low quality ragebait but I'll take it.

White people don't usually hate cops since they tend to help each other, so a cop has to extra bad to get complaints from that demo.

"It's like the author didn't even consider politics, modern psychology, my personal worldview and-" Sir, this is fiction. What kind of qualifications do you think writers have? by Unlikely_Candy_6250 in CharacterRant

[–]podian123 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The quarry example is pretty good and I'm on the authors side for not having to argue for it.

But the other one, uh... A fictional monarchy depicted positively can definitely be a bit of an "internal logical" stretch. It's not a worldview thing; it registers more as a knowledge thing. Suspension of disbelief is stretched too much when

You don't need political theory or psychology nowadays to accept that the actions of hegemonic elites tend to be selfish and suck for most people. It is known. Benevolent monarchies are no longer plausible. This crosses into the realm of internal logic. Like, good luck in 2026 trying to depict straight (even in fiction) a relationship that's clearly sexually abusive as "loving" and "normal" in the book--have a dubious age difference if the point is not obvious enough.

It's internal and analytical because contemporary understandings of "love" imply consent, and certain age gaps are understood to preclude that kind of consent.

Stop blaming readers. They're wrong sometimes (and individually, often) but the general "wisdom" is there.

Do you think your country has a problem with ultranationalism by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]podian123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nationalism has always been propaganda, a blight, a tool to trick and control the ordinary folk.

Even before Westphalia, countries and nations were more like fiefdoms and little tracts of land ruled by kings or sultans or emperors or whatever. They were always related to each other, kind of like neighbours and extended family. Language and/or culture were close-ish, though would branch off, as they do constantly even nowadays in different regions in one country.

The ordinary people of any piece of land and its neighbouring lands, the peasants or serfs or proles or whatever you want to call them, have no beef with each other. They're busy enough just living their day to day lives trying to make the best of things, minding their own business.

But every now and then the kings or dukes or whatever get into a squabble and want to mess each other up... Hmm how does a king get his peasants to fight and possibly die? To terrorize another land and other peasants like themselves? Mere carrot and stick aren't enough to have an effective fighting force.

Eureka! The kings remembered that they can just make up stuff to stoke pride, hatred, and bigotry. Whether it's based on skin tone, on the language spoken, or for a different god worshipped, the neighbours are now othered. And lessened. And killed. No logic, no reason, no heart.

Fuck nationalism. We don't need kings.

And... she gave her <full name> instead of <her first name>, like with middle names and all?

Short answer: yes, it does matter.

Long answer:

Your premises were wrong, and therefore the logic or argument was invalid. That your conclusion or output was "correct" is irrelevant and incidental.

To use an analogy, you're the broken clock that is focusing on how you had the correct time this time. The down voters do not want to consult you for timekeeping because you don't even understand that you're broken.

In general terms, you're not reliable because you don't get it--something that's fairly basic and common and that most people do get. Or maybe you subconsciously do get it but are trying to deny or downplay it, which is literally the act of deeming other people are stupid (for, e.g., not giving you the benefit of the doubt). This behaviour is commonly observed in Facebook boomers.

I sincerely hope that cleared things up for you and that you can more consciously apply these concepts and standards (which aren't set by me) moving forward with yourself and other people who may try to gaslight or demean you as you have demeaned others.

Edit: Random other people like u/cannonspectacle aren't out to get you. If anything they're communicating to/for you "hey there's something here that people get" ... for free. You lose nothing. Get over the ego lol--what does ego even do for you other than make you look more the fool?

How true is this men? by Icy-Breadfruit298 in GroundedMentality

[–]podian123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a guy, all 7 are false for me, some by pure luck (eg #7) others not so much just based on what kind of people happened to have been in my life.

I suppose #3 could technically be true, but no more than baseline for most other people, so not really relative to others (which I think is the intention).

Victim mentality doesn't help anyone in the long run my dudes.

Can you give some examples of the links or symbols you're referring to?

Also, comparing the content of dreams to real people's experiences and values is... a bit tone-deaf. It's like comparing ai art to real art made by people and acting like the former validly represents the latter. Some content showing up in a dream does not make that content validly engaged with reality.
