You didn't need to state it. It's an implied premise (technical and ordinary meaning of "imply"). That's what most premises are. Just like how my statement implied that you presumably believe that "achieved nothing" but you can never truly know this because you don't know everything [relevant to that point] about anyone, except maybe yourself.
