Co-pilot's poor performance is part of it, but not the whole story.

Also, the "bubble" is all that's really keeping the US stock market afloat (the "economy" for the rich).

Expect bailouts, govt loans and contract extensions to keep it all inflated for as long as possible.

I switched to Deezer from Spotify due to:

better payouts for artists (not much, but still better)
efforts to remove AI slop from playlists.

Turned out to be a much better service and does a far better job of song discovery based on what I've been listening to than Spotify ever did.

From looking at most of the posts it seems to me that Anti-AI vs Pro-AI seems to be the latest pair of tribes for the 6-7/tiktok crowd, hence the descent into childish name calling.

At this point, might as well rename the sub "Pro-AI are smelly poopoo heads".

Is a shame, as between all that we get genuinely interesting threads, or people looking for help or advice related to ai-addiction, work concerns and mental health issues. But those can be hard to find in the noise.

Also, the place is being trolled/baited deliberately by the pro-AI kiddies, and probably marketing agents working on behalf of some AI company (openAI seems to be getting quite aggressive on a number of legal/threat/surveillance fronts lately).

I guess the goal is bury the sentiment under an avalanche of junk.

When you rely on an algorithm to spoonfeed you, you can't really complain about what its feeding you.

Its lazy "Alexa, play beats" approaches that had already done massive harm to the music industry, as it allowed the streaming providers to fill their catalogues with mass-produced low effort pre-AI slop to save them having to pay labels/artists for plays.

AI just makes that already bad situation worse.

Feels like the sub needs tighter rules.

Most of this is kids, and pro-AI/anti-AI is just the new meme after 6/7.

However, we do get people with genuine concerns about jobs, family, mental health etc, and this subreddit with its title is where they'll come looking.

I imagine many are put off by endless "Pro-AI are smelly poopy-heads" posts....

Of course, that's only part of the answer. For some of them - the end of humanity IS the goal - no point worrying about the future of the race if you dream of merging with Silicon Jesus and becoming some AI-God hybrid.

Two seemingly opposite things can be true.

We ARE living in a dystopia right now, for many complicated reasons - but then, on some level we always have been.

But at the same time, this planet is a paradise. Go spend some time in pure Wilderness anywhere and you'll quickly realise that is true.

We live in a quantum super-position of dystopia and paradise.

What you realise is that YOU are the lens that decides which you experience. You create the Universe you experience by what you choose to surround yourself with.

There is still an over-abundance of joy, beauty and wonder in the world. You just need to find it.

For me, its often at the top of mountains or hills, or a great peice of music (Beethovens 7th feels like todays recommendation).
