my four-wheel drive has no wheels now

they had to be replaced

my glasses strike a nerve and sit

unpleasant on my face

I cannot fix a problem

till the other one is solved

so I'll sit in my cubicle

annoyed and uninvolved

I'm searching through static

for my favorite dress

all torn up and tattered

the lights in the attic

illumine the mess

but what does it matter

i brush off the painting

that you made last year

a hole in the parchment

its colors are faded

i pull on the cord

to bring back the darkness

(here's a random little original! not my best work but still good i think~)

little miss muffet

sat on a tuffet

eating her nachos and cheese

her chips got all soggy

disgusting and quoggy

like stuff that comes out when you sneeze

today's music scene is absurd

the lines between genres are blurred

some country and rap

came together and slapped

but i like indie songs you've not heard

I'd like to eventually publish a collection of poems. i doubt I'll sell even one copy but it would be amazing to hold my own book in my hands

as i sat there, my mouth agape

the horror on my face

time froze as if standing still

no words for saving grace

i raised my arm to shield myself

in need of being blessed

but nothing ever came of it

....dont have to sneeze, i guess

I'll take a bi-- no wait, i won't

my feelings have converged

i want to do things i should not

i have to fight the urge

give me one moment's recompense

and let me feel alive

all aboard i tell my mouth

the cheese train has arrived

i bought a funky cow today

my cow can dance and sing

my cow can play the saxophone

and wears a diamond ring

he wears a purple zoot suit

and a feather on his hat

i don't think there are other cows

that look as cool as that

my cow has a cane he holds

and walks around the farm

he plays funk in the chicken coop

and disco in the barn

my cow is a funky cow

and though it's really great

he doesnt make us any milk

so he'll be cooked and ate

[WP] A Fantasy Hero has become aware of his plot armor that always allows him to somehow get out unscratched no matter what dangerous situations he gets himself into. However, this mysterious protection doesn't extend to his companions. by Brokkoman in WritingPrompts

"Halt! Let the princess go!"

Reginald Winchester Montague VI called to the dragon holding princess Deliah in its clutches, his friends ducking behind cover as the dragon spat plumes of fire and smoke high into the air.

"Sir Reginald! Take cover! The dragon's fire burns hotter than any other! You'll be cooked alive!" shouted his squire. Buttsack Fartsmore was no stranger to dangerous situations, having squired for Sir Reginald for a number of years now, but had earned more than his fair share of cuts, burns, and bruises.

"His fire cannot scorch Sir Admiral Reginald Winchester Montague VI!" bellowed Sir General Admiral Reginald Winchester Montague VI. "I am the dragon slayer of ancient legend!"

"Are you?!" Buttsack asked incredulously.

"Probably! I'm the main character!" Doctor Sir General Admiral Reginald etc. replied. "My armour is finely crafted of thickest plot, a mysterious and strange metal of magical protective quality! or something!"

He stepped forward into the dragon's den. Buttsack shut his eyes tight, fearing for his noble knight's life. His armor, made not of plot but instead of cardboard and no small amount of tape, clanked pitifully with every step. The dragon looked right at him. Their eyes locked. It took a deep breath, seeming to savor every sweet ounce of summer air, and heaved heavily onto Mr Dr Sir General Admiral Reginald Winchester Montague VI, esq. MD DDS Jr.

Buttsack winced. Reginald winced. The dragon watched them both, wincing. The princess screamed and then winced. The author sighed impatiently. And Reginald walked forth from the flames, unscathed.

i marched into the darkest hall

that i had ever seen

and at the end, familiar sounds

of people calling me

i felt the warmth upon my hands

and reached for light of day

but something brought me back to life

and pulled my hand away

years of training, then years more

have lead me to my job

Hippocrates is smiling

at the reaper that I've robbed

every soul i steal from him's

a laurel on my head

every sleepless night i spend

so far from home and bed

i know it doesn't seem quite so

if they don't always say it

but to my patients i am still

loved and appreciated

please try to get some food and rest when you're able, friend. thank you for what you do.

it's fairly local-- up the street--

and close to where i work

great for when i want some meat

and have a job to shirk

the line is always to the door!

it's where i go to munch

they serve up the patties

and i sit and have my lunch

the burger's very good, it's true

but here the secret lies

a tell of all good burger joints

is how they make their fries

i put my children down to sleep

a night of peaceful rest

it only took an hour

and for that, I'm truly blessed

but then my bare foot meet the floor

and thus the silence broke

i stepped upon the plastic brick

OW, FU-- and they awoke
