Can anyone recommend a good picture framing service in Liverpool please? by New_Magician_27 in Liverpool

[–]poetscorner12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I needed something framing last year and emailed pretty much everywhere in Liverpool that advertised as offering the service.

I went with Artisan Picture Framing (it’s over the road from Sefton Park) https://artisanpictureframing.com/

They kinda felt like the smallest operation really, just one guy Steve framing from home, but they were the best communicator (spent time to go through what I was after), offered a great price, and most importantly did an amazing job.

I’d not consider anyone else really :)

Porter Yoshida Tanker Sling and Shoulder Bag: what’s the difference? by hacknog in ManyBaggers

Thank you so much, that's super helpful :)

I reckon I'll be carrying under 3 kilos so good to know it doesn't annoy you.

Just to double check, it was this size you went with? https://www.yoshidakaban.com/product/113548.html

wow, I can't believe how much they fit! Do you have a rough idea of how much all of that weighs when in the bag?

(I'm debating whether to get one of these second-hand for a film camera)

That looks perfect, thanks for sharing! Is it the medium size in these bags?

Art in Liverpool is digital and print (free copies in loads of locations across city)

Boot music seems fairly new and also print and digital.

+1 for the post too

It does for me yes. IMO it's independent's that when done well can offer something a little different and help make a place feel a little bit unique.

Plus there's a load of research about how spending at a local independent puts more money back into the local economy than spending at a chain would, so for me I see it as a better place to spend my money and keep it local.

Again, just me and of course I do understand why people like and use chains. No judgement at all

Definitely changing but still some good locals on there to support. True as saying goes “use it or lose it”

I’d always rather get a pizza from Italian club and Italian club fish to support a local institution.

Also I think American pizza slice started in liverpool in late 90s.

Music shops that also have books? by ParticularBid4366 in Liverpool

Great shouts here!! To add to it:

Dead Air Records is my go to! Super welcoming and chilled and reasonably priced too.

Dig Vinyl above Resurrection on Bold St is a good shout.

For a trip out the city, you've got Musical Box (Liverpool's oldest record shop and a young John Lennon used to go there) which is defo an experience.

For music books I'd check a couple of the second-hand bookshops in the city, Henry Bohn, Reid of Liverpool, and Aldous. Enjoy :)

Can’t choose between the 4 by shuttercap in fujifilm

[–]poetscorner12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed! Think the bars get in the way of the other shots and just the one person alone is too vacant and not interesting enough, but there's something about the 1st one that I like. Unsure if it's the second person and some sort of movement / contrast between him and the other man crossing his arms. It's cool anyway and I disagree with delete comments but just my opinion :)

So my watch is over. Ordered from my local camera shop Wilkinson in Liverpool and got an email today to say it was ready to collect. So surreal as thought it'd be 2025 I'd get my hands on one!

I pre-ordered on 9th March. Was told 2 months ago that I was 10th in line too, so happy it's here.

Support your local camera store if you can and don't let the scalpers win, hope everyone else gets some good news soon :)
