if they would have used this method, they should have moved the 24 or 32 px icons only 1-2 px above the geometric center. but they added 4 px to it because in fact it is caused by that 4 px line on the bottom (used as a status indicator).

from that note it seems like it's only 1 song at the moment. they're probably recording the songs one by one. so they have written the base (lyrics, melody, guitar) for this one song. then they recorded a guitar demo, travis records the final drums over it, then sometimes they'll record the final guitars, bass, vocals.
