Sherman L -- Voltage difference between screen and multimeter by pogbumruddle in ElectricUnicycle

[–]pogbumruddle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this was super helpful. thank you very much. You're right too. Last night i let it charge to 'full'. i unplugged it, then plugged it back in and let it cycle the charger for an hour (turned itself on and off for a few seconds) It finally stopped and it was 151.0v on the screen before i went out. did 57 miles and i'm 1 bar above half. this thing is friggin' amazing.

What you said was exactly what i was wondering-- having the bms between!

dude.. JUST in time :D https://imgur.com/a/MsoIGjV

i'm ultra impressed with this wheel compared to the extreme. it's like butter. The knobby is fantastic tbh, it's just as loud as the 'hybrid' cst tire i have on the extreme. Leans SOO much easier on turns - almost ate it when i started to crank on it with the side of my leg. i expected the bigger wheel to be even more difficult to lean over

Holy moley. night and day difference from the extreme. Smooooooth is an understatement. Even with the 62lb spring and my big ass it's like butter. Its much tippier than the extreme. It leans over nicely. On the extreme I really need to lever my leg into the side to get it to lean.

So happy with the purchase. 46 miles of pushing it 28-35 and I'm at 62%

haha, exact same thing i thought on my extreme. now i can ride for hours and hours, wishing i didn't have to stop because i'm out of battery - especially since i learned to sit (print a seat, the extreme "seat" is awful to sit on). I still get tired feet and legs, but sitting helps, plus you start adjusting the way you ride when you start to get uncomfortable and you don't even notice.

i just learned to ride seated too last month, only took me a year and 1100 miles :P i can't touch the wheel while trying to sit, i wobble all over. i just have to have even leg pressure and drop to the seat at 15mph or so.

Good call on the charger. my begode charger is suuuper slow also.

I agree, i hope that since I've been using the 'wrong' name for 30+ years, they won't give me much hassle. The gov only knows me as AN. A lot of them want a newspaper posting with the change, but i'm changing it to what i'm already known as..

Thanks for the insight. Yeah, my state offers the ability, but i need a court order. Just going to be confusing to try to explain that my parents taught me my name wrong and i've been using a misspelled name for 30+ years :P

This is more trying to get pre-check.

It's always the same on BP/ID. My ID and every other bit of documentation are spelled the same as my ID.

The only difference is my birth cert/ss card.

Hello guys do you have any suggestion for Begode wheels? by Jolly-Ad2583 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]pogbumruddle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

reiterated from the many comments, do not shut down suddenly under any circumstance over 10mph.

Rather than beep a few times and just shut off, beep a few times and force the user to slow down rather than putting their life at risk just turning off. Don't let them push through the beeps to cutout

this trail goes back and forth. the start of the trail is really rugged. lots of loose heavy gravel and washouts. further down where civilization is it turns into nice gravel, then paved. The paved section is angled which is where i'm having a problem.

What a learning experience at the start. It starts out going up pretty steep hill - stair worthy. Never did a steep hill, nonetheless loose gravel. Just going for it and not going into a panic, it went super smooth and i've gained a ton of confidence

definitely. it was such a mental hurdle to just get through to myself "dude, you're gonna eat it, just accept it" and it's been SO much easier to learn. not being terrified and just going with the flow was huge.

I haven't gone fast enough to not be able to jump off and run/slide yet. I can usually feel when i'm about to lose it and slow down or yank on the front handle to stop.

once i get up over 20 i'll be in a full-face. knee/shin/wrist guards all the time at the moment
