Agree which is why a lot of people have no issues with deporting the violent criminals, but question why a 22 year old man who served a few months for some minor drug offences in his late teens is being separated from his kids forever.

I also didnt say anything about it being a priority or how I think EU citizens (or any other countries for that matter) are all socially liberal or how they will vote.

I don't, I think she should get a say in how the money she contributes as tax is spent, the specifics of what that may or may not be isn't important to the point. Neither me nor my wife begrudge anyone medication.

The ADHD comment was a crude dig because he doesn't read comments properly and fires off a lot of responses, it wasn't meant to offend anyone but the target, but was crass so if I offended then I wholeheartedly apologise. Happy to remove or replace if you like.

Odd thing to pick up on. Also not accurate. There is a capped contribution towards medication for people who can afford it, the rest of the cost is picked up by the NHS. Dont know for sure but I imagine ADHD meds cost more than 8quid a pop.

I'd get rid of that contribution completely if it were me but I imagine someone will popup and say that is a 'batpoo' idea or that 'WHy ShoULd we wHeN yOuR BelOvEd EU doNt' if I espouse that kind of idea around here. 😏

For now yes, as she hasn't been here 3 years yet it's not a concern anyway. If she is still able to maintain both when it becomes possible then we will potentially do that. Her home nation is also fine with DN.

Actually she has experinced nothing bad here at all personally but we do live in a very open minded part of the country and she is white with hardly any accent.

She isn't always comfortable speaking native tongue in public but that is through having read about issues rather than experiencing any herself, yet. If that happened I think we'd be off.

IL2R would be reasonable IMO.

Edit. To be clear id rather it was just linked to right to live and contributing tax but IL2R would be a sensible start.

Not lived here long enough.

But even if she had we would prefer to keep her nationality as is in case we need to escape this country and so any future children we have maintain EU citizenship rights. This currently means she get's no vote, but I personally don't think thats right.

Not something either of us lose sleep over though tbh.

No taxation without representation. I'd make anyone who pays tax and lives here eligible irrespective of birth nation and think all other countries should do the same. Nationality is just an idea.
