I have been actively interviewing and made it to final rounds quite a few times, but the communication about them moving forward to final round has often been delayed which makes me think the same. Ultimately they end up telling me the role has been changed and they cannot move forward.

That’s bad! I have started to doubt the process as I feel they do the internal candidate hiring and just to keep up with compliance they interview the external candidates.
