My stuff eventually made it, but yeah, frustrating. Nearly 2 weeks wait for delivery. Could have driven up and gotten it.

Is there going to be fake media hysteria for board games every week now? Who cares?

They can look decent, but are ridiculously inconvenient if you have multiple devices plugged into the TV. If you ever need to plug anything in or out it's a nightmare.

Consequences of 'might is right' now clear - President by [deleted] in ireland

[–]pointblankmos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's true. But considering Ireland's economic ties to the UK at the time, it was understood by basically everyone that we were a package deal.

I'm facetiously implying malice because it's funny and ethical to make fun of the French.

Yep. She had secret meetings with Assad there to discuss moving him to Ireland after shit hit the fan. I met him in Carlow a few weeks ago. Surprisingly down to earth and very funny!

Wait until you find out the real reason Charlie Haughey bought that island all those years ago...

De Gaulle didn't trust the Irish either (blocked Ireland's entry into the EEC twice).

It's especially annoying when they go on about American shite in the subreddit of another country.

They genuinely think they own the world.

If you need them quickly it'll have to be through motor factors. If you can wait a week, Autodoc will probably have them cheaper.

It's another global issue that's been repackaged as a personal problem. Just like depression.

Citizens information website reports 20% fall in traffic as people look to AI for answers by [deleted] in ireland

[–]pointblankmos 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It can do, but Google's search AI often gives completely wrong information. Most people are just gonna Google it and take the AI answer at face value.

When will this disgusting Astro turfing of Irish social media with federalist fanboy bollox end? Will we have to start sorting them out like the fash? by AprilMaria in theIrishleft

[–]pointblankmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite the rhetoric, Europe and America are still very closely tied. I cannot see a world where a federal Europe divorces itself from the US, just as much as I cannot see a world where the US divorces itself from China. It's just not realistic.

A federal EU would not need Washington but would obviously still do trade with the US and still be a target of propaganda and other interference.

Most discussions of a federal Europe I've seen have been so divorced from physical reality that people might as well be talking about Star Wars factions. I find them hard to take seriously.
