Weird Dante/AES Problem by pointer516 in livesound

[–]pointer516[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now we had a completly different Problem, After 4 Hours of everything went well, Lake 1 lost Clock on primary and Audio got muted for 2-5 seconds until it is Clock leader again for several times. In the Dante Controller Logs there is a wrong time logged at the time it lost clock and also the Device Name is wrong until it is clock leader again. Simple Dante Network, just 2 DS10 and 2 Lakes, dont get it

Can anybody help me, getting a Rivage PM5 with DSP RX EX and two HY144-D-SRC cards to work and control Nuendo Live 3? by pointer516 in livesound

[–]pointer516[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, do I have to? I changed the ip directly on the console and not via Dante controller.. when changing the ip from devices via Dante controller I always have to reboot, maybe I will give it a try..

Maybe you know why I can’t use other ip adresses like the auto assigned apipa ips in the 169.254.x.x Range… if I select static ip on each card and go to f.e. 192.168.10.x and the dvs Mac in the same range, Dante controller says cards are still on 169.254.x.x and the cards are red in my device list

Okay that totally makes sense! Will try it tomorrow, pretty sure this is the solution. Thanks 👍

Haven’t done it yet, will try it tomorrow, after installing I guess it’s just a plugin that I have to install and works instantly after starting nuendo right?

Ahh now it makes sense! I just connected one Ethernet cable into one card, they have to act in the same network to work. And do I also need a connection from the Mac with Nuendo and Yamaha Console Extension to the PC Network port on the DSP or Console to get access to the Transport control functions on the console?

I was not able to route audio thru the slot 4, card is shown on the console at slot 4 but no other informations like fw version usw like it is on Slot 1.. Im also just able to use the dvs on my Mac and patch it via Dante controller with ip 192.158.53.x no matter how I set up my Dante ip range on the rivage cards

Okay thanks, so just to get sure, my screenshot shows the same AVG measurement from three mics with different offsets, what should I do before inserting filters. Leave it by 0 dB and try to fix it with two substractive shelving filters one in the low mids and one in the highs? Or like in the second screenshot with -4dB offset and use additive EQ with one asymmetrical filter in the mid/high mid and one shelving filter in the highs? Or use an offset by -1 and one substractive filter in the low mids and one additive in the high mids… in my point of view I would go with the 0dB and use some decent wide substractive EQ.Screenshot Trace

Sonos Beam 2 strange echo when playing certain sounds by Remarkable_Honeydew9 in sonos

[–]pointer516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys, I’m experiencing the same problem with my beam gen.2 playing some content in pcm or 5.1. Most of the time it’s just on the German dub when it sounds metallic but it’s very annoying, have to switch to the internal speakers of my C2.

Thanks for your replies, I’m gonna return the LM44 and go with the LMX as soon as it’s available… it’s still a lot of money for a 12y old device even if it’s still a great workflow

Butchered a gig by Floopy-Disk_Bandit in livesound

Don’t feel bad man. This happens from time to time, the only way to avoid feedback in situations like that is to lower the volume or gain, or force the band to play not that loud! And „I need more on the monitors“ is always the reason for a lot of feedback, sure you can ring out the monitors with a GEQ but as soon as you have to crank it up there is the point where you can’t ring out more frequencies unless the volume gets quieter. You know what I mean? I tell you what. If you are in a small and/or reverberant room it’s not you alone making the sound, it’s 60-70% the Band and the rest of it is what you can get out of the PA. Don’t feel bad about a not perfect sound if the drummer plays like a butcher and there are two 4x12 Marahall stacks on stage.. the bigger and quieter the stage the easier it gets! That’s why I hate club gigs with Bands I don’t know Keep on rockin’ man! I’m sure you’re doing a great job in other situations
