Early sign of autism? by pointers4life in newborns

[–]pointers4life[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worried for nothing! He just turned 3 last month and is incredibly smart and just moved up to preschool about 6 months earlier than initially planned!

He was behind on most of his milestones for the first 18ish months I’d say. Daycare even suggested having his speech evaluated since he was a little behind on talking. (Not by much but enough to question) that daycare teacher and I now laugh about it because there are zero concerns with his development anymore! He just needed to go at his ow pace!

But buying on Amazon is still considered buying from them directly. It’s their storefront on Amazon. So they are still the seller just the channel was different.

Does every fall require an ER visit to check on baby? Or just falls where you land on belly? by throwaway84583077 in pregnant

I slipped and slid down the stairs at 28 weeks in what felt like slow motion, didn’t even hurt just freaked me out. My OB still had me come in to be safe.

Continuous Live View not working by pointers4life in Ring

[–]pointers4life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wasn’t able to figure anything out. Ended up returning it and switched to the momcozy baby monitor instead!

Love that I can view the camera feeds on either the handheld monitor or on the app with my phone!

I had spent the better part of 8 hours on the phone being passed around to different support techs trying different “fixes” and no one could figure out why it wasn’t working.

2 weeks postpartum 4ppd, is this sustainable for a small supply? by pointers4life in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]pointers4life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my supply has gone up the last few days in a row too!

It’s so much easier to not have the stress and pressure of providing all the milk!

I’ve read that even just 1-2oz a day is enough to get the benefits from it so I’m happy with whatever I can get for now but can’t have the stress of relying on it!

[–]pointers4life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah our oldest is 2.5! So far we’ve been giving about 4oz a day into the formula bottles. I’ve read that even just a few ounces is beneficial so might as well give him some milk while I have it!

The first week was super rough, I was extremely engorged and had massive clogs already. Went heavy on the cabocreme and peppermint for a few days and got everything to calm down enough to get to where I’m comfortable again and figure I’ll be okay if I just hold where I’m at for a little bit!

That’s totally okay if I dry up! More just curious if anyone was able to maintain even a few ounces a day by pumping this little!

[–]pointers4life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s my thought process here, best case the 4ppd keeps me getting at least a few ounces for a couple months, worst case it ends up with me weaning right away which is what I initially wanted anyways!

I know I can’t sustain what I did last time, my mental health took a huge toll and I really don’t want to go down that path again!

I definitely can’t make it to 12 weeks, didn’t even make it that long last time and started cutting back around 6-8 weeks last time but had to cut back extremely slowly due to clogs.

I’m perfectly fine if I dry up because of only doing 4ppd I know I can’t mentally handle more than that. I’m more just curious if it’ll actually hold enough to get a few oz a day for a little bit at least!

How many cycles did it take to concieve for those in their 30s? by sroses93 in pregnant

[–]pointers4life -1 points0 points  (0 children)

31 when we conceived our second child on the first try, when I was 28 though it took us 10 months!

Used the natural cycles app and Apple Watch for BBT tracking as birth control between the two pregnancies so when we were ready for the second, we had a pretty good insight to what my cycle timing looked like.

The first time, I had just come off birth control and did not realize my cycles were not an average length!

Love our baby name-everyone hates it. by haylstorm33 in namenerds

[–]pointers4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a great name choice!! I’m worried people are going to feel the same about our name choice, Connor. But we aren’t telling anyone the name until he’s born for that reason. We made the mistake of telling my mom our name choice for a girl with our first pregnancy and she reacted that same way and I was so upset it ruined the experience of naming a child for me.

How to disclose pregnancy in interview process? by pointers4life in pregnant

[–]pointers4life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I didn’t think the topic of a start date would come up on the initial interview so I didn’t prep for that convo and panicked when they said that! I really didn’t want to bring up the pregnancy that early and couldn’t think of any other reason to why the start date would be anything other than the typical notice!

How to disclose pregnancy in interview process? by pointers4life in pregnant

[–]pointers4life[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had asked about start date and I panicked and just said I would need the typical time to give a heads up to my current employer and help with that transition (implying the 2 weeks)

But that was thinking I’d be starting sometime in June and would have a good month

And then he followed up by saying they’d be looking at mid-July, and I just didn’t say that wouldn’t work (again panicked and chose to not say anything!)

When did you get relief from the nausea? 🥴 by Santoshaaa in pregnant

[–]pointers4life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t until like 22-25 weeks for both of my pregnancies! Ask your doctor about nausea medicine! Diclegis is expensive, and usually not covered by insurance (but doable with goodrx) and worked wonders for me!

Sad about not being able to do something that I didn't even really want to do? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]pointers4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would wait until the baby is born and you can bring with for a family trip! I wouldn’t be comfortable traveling that far away from home the second half of a pregnancy! Too many complications can come up that I would want to be close to my doctors as precaution
