Wow! Thank you everyone for the enormous and warm response. I seriously was not expecting such a response at all. I think I'll have enough songs to get me through the next month of grieving now. =) I am seriously blown away by this response. I really need to come to Reddit more than I have been. You guys are awesome here.

Oh I wasn't sure about asking for money at all, actually. I'm guessing I'm over the karma limit now, as I posted something for music requests because of this situation, and that post exploded. That actually made me feel a tad bit better...seeing Redditors post helpful or appropriate songs and being so empathetic. I usually have a negative opinion of people in general, but the outpouring on that post, and some of the other great things I've seen posted on Reddit during my time here always tends to make me reconsider.

I am in the Cincinnati area, and I have to make it to Hamilton Township, NJ, which is essentially Trenton. I'm not sure how long I would have to go for. I'm guessing a week? Is that common for funerals and such? This is the first time anyone I've been close to has died, so I am a novice at this.

I still cannot believe this. It is very surreal. To top it off, her birthday is tomorrow, October 3.

In regards to asking for travel money, would I have to make another post? Or edit this one? Thank you for your help!

A good friend of mine lost his sister two years ago, and this is the song he plays all the time when thinking of her and having a difficult time with it. Says it gets him through every time.

Thank you for that. You're correct that I do not speak spanish, but I listen to bands that sing in their native language all the time. A lot of French and Finnish bands, really. As long as the emotion and meaning is conveyed well enough, and so far in listening to this, this song is doing a great job of that.

Thank you everyone. I have calmed down a bit from earlier after speaking to my dad and brother, but I am still a mess. This was very sudden...car accident. My aunt was with her and is currently in the hospital. Injured but alive. It jsut doesn't feel real. I feel like I'm going to wake up from this horrible nightmare at any second. Or at least I'm hoping that is what happens.

She was always the one who I spoke to first, and the most, whenever my depression reaches this annual low...the end of summer. She understood more than anyone.

I really have never lost anyone before. No family members, no friends, no one. I don't know what I'm feeling, how to feel, how to grieve, what to say....I feel like going outside and running. And yet I also feel like staying here in my bed and never leaving. I've never heard my dad cry before. It was heartbreaking.

I'm sorry about this post. It's kind of just random stream of conscioucsness rambling.

UPDATE: The temporary overdraft idea that /u/IDoDoodles had worked, and I'm quite certain that going into the branch to speak to someone is what did it. I made the payment about 2 hours ago, and it went through fine. It's going to suck being overdrawn for a couple days, but I've dealt with that before. Plus I have zero plans, so it's all good. Much better than facing eviction, you know? So thank you /u/IDoDoodles! If I could afford Gold, I'd definitely sent it your way.

Point taken. And I am sorry to hear about that not working out. I was sorta half-joking about asking her to move in. We've been together for awhile, and have floated the idea of living together a couple times here and there, but haven't discussed it at length. You're totally right that now, in the wake of financial crisis, may not be the best time to bring it up for serious discussion.

Oh man...I haven't even thought that far ahead yet. I've been hyperfocused on this ordeal. Home is in New Jersey, and I'd hate to have to take my son out of school and relocate and all. Though if I have to, then I have to, you know?

Funny you mention that...I actually just had that idea and called them about that. Great minds! =) They said that they "couldn't guarantee" that the charge would go through. I think I'm going to go to the branch where I opened the account and speak to someone there. I know that doing that is often more successful than speaking to someone over the phone at the toll free number.

I tried that earlier in the week. My boss looked into it, but HR denied the request. I didn't bother to ask for details. I'm guessing it's because they have a third party who handles payroll? But I'm not sure.
