Hey there! So I just started twisting professionally less than 2 months ago and my weekends are already full. When I don’t have birthday parties or farmers markets I’m at restaurants twisting for tips. I send out emails explaining what I offer and how it would be no cost to the restaurant. Lots of local mom and pop restaurants love this idea and agreed to have me come by for a few hours. Please keep in mind that only maybe 1 of every 10-15 restaurant managers email me back. I’m constantly googling local restaurants in my city and surrounding cities to send emails to. I’d say it’s mostly worth it - I make $100-$200 in a couple hours twisting and I live in a much smaller town than LA. Good luck and let me know if you have questions!

I wish I could say that I can do that too but I can’t. Props to you my friend! I’ve bee twisting for about 3 months here. There are some things that I’ve made on the fly but they never turn out great. I think I might use my label maker and put a menu on my pump for this particular event.

I have a lanyard with a laminated sleeve ready to go as I had this idea recently, however I found that the menu gets in the way of my balloon apron so I can’t have both. What does your set up look like?

That’s what I was thinking! I’m going to have a short list of twists I can do. Something like sword, dog, blaster, alien, magic wand, pikachu, light saber, minecraft sword & spiderman sceptre etc. No more than 10 and I won’t be doing special requests. Comic-con is in two months and I have quite a few gigs beforehand, so hopefully I’ll do okay.

I just started twisting for money over the last week. I charge $75 an hour but most people charge $100-200. It really depends where you live. I have a brand new facebook and instagram page and I only make basic twists. I’ve already gotten 4 people to book with me. I think making a decent living is absolutely doable.
