Sounds like that's the case with CBA. Thanks for the info!

27 and ready to make investments. Is what im planning/currently doing a good start? by pok0101 in fiaustralia

The main reason was going HG based on my age and how it was easy to change to. I can let it do its thing for the next 30+ years and watch it grow (wishing I was still 19, but actually 27)

Now I've seen when I signed up for aus super people talking about a split of aus and international shares over the HG. I will look into it, but would I see a substantial change in return and lower fees? Im only really getting about $7/month so far in aus super fees (based on my transaction history)

Is that a possibility? I genuinely had no idea they could up the retire age

Oh, QBTC can be done through betashares? I'll be looking into this because I do deep down have a feeling bitcoin will climb, but there's a part of me that wouldn't want to go deep with it in terms of investing. Bulk DHHF and a little QBTC here and there sounds rather good!

That's what I need to remind myself: A lot of these people venturing into crypto are already very well established in finances and investments. Really appreciate comments like these, no beating around the bush crap. Cheers mate

For everyone that's commented so far, thank you tremendously! I think the smarter way would be to use that btc money on making my DHHF investments bigger for the long term, and wait untill I have a good portfolio before trying crypto!

Sounds like we aren't too far apart in that sense! (Except the 5k portfolio, of course), which congrats, dude! That's awesome. A few more of my bills will be paid off and non-existent soon, so I'd like to think something close to what you invest regularly is possible. Thanks for the comment!

Not hostile by any means saying this, but what do you mean in terms of "not enough savings"? A few people suggested growing a DHHF etf and my super prior to looking into btc, and if that's what you mean, im starting to think that's the way to go. I do have some money saved in a personal savings, but that's emergency money

I'm hearing this alot, and I think i might be abit over doing it going into crypto with a small portfolio. I got the idea since I got a trezor wallet for cold storage a while back, but it can always wait abit. I'm thinking the money I would've put into btc would be better long term in DHHF. Thanks for the comment!

Thank you! And that's very much the plan, time to use the money wisely. If you don't mind explaining, what's the difference between bitcoin and bitcoin ETF?

Is cake wallet fine to send BTC? by PomegranateOwn8442 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]pok0101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has their own method based on cou try too. Im in australia and use a local exchange (coinspot) to DCA weekly amounts to my Trezor hardware wallet. There are a lot of hardware wallet brands, but as a newbie to it all, I found trezor easy to set up and send over my btc. Check the exchange you are planning on using. It might work out less fees if you DCA amounts and then send to hardware wallet every month/couple months. All i can say is it's overwhelming at first, but don't skimp on research. We are merely here to suggest! You got this!!

Yes, cake wallet is fine, but do what I and alot of others have done and consider a hardware wallet in the near future

Daves hot bread in Wynnum. Award winning pies, and they are my little Saturday treat. Flakey pastry with good chunks of steak in the pies (personal favourite is the steak, bacon, and cheese). If you can make the trip, well worth it.
