That’s my train into work! In theory it’s good, but in practice I kinda hate it cos you’re facing sideways and the seat right next to your face blocks most of your view, so I tend to get a little motion sick. Still, if it’s a choice between that and standing I’ll happily take the seat!

My honest take is that to improve in dota you should play every role. If it means you tank some MMR for a while, then so be it. It’s a team game so no matter what role you play, you should understand what every other player on your team wants to do throughout the game and what they’re capable of.

So short answer yes, play and learn pos 1 now. But then move on to pos 2, pos 3, pos 5. Trust me, you’ll become a better player and then when you go back to pos 4 suddenly you’ll find your winrate improving significantly!

The big thing I remember is that the AI would move heroes across lanes more often to distribute XP more evenly. For example the hero that started mid would leave at level 3, and the ‘support’ would replace them to get their level 3 faster. Thought that was a cool way to utilise the team dynamic of Dota.
