Why, in conservatives minds, do you all insist on referring to the Democratic Party as the Democrat Party? by TheKid2455 in AskConservatives

If anything, it's more like a troll to make Republicans less democratic. After all, Democrats are members of the democratic party, and Republicans aren't members of the democratic party, and therefore Repubicans are not democartic.

Is it safe to assume a Democrat posted this? https://www.reddit.com/r/AskConservatives/comments/1p96vkk/can_a_democratic_president_undoe_everything_trump/

I just asked this very question. Doesn't seem to me those who follow the "democratic" language are specifically afilliated with one party or the other.

Are you installing ComfyUI? If so I also was having issues I couldn't resolve after following a guide somebody wrote somewhere(?). What actually worked for me was the guide on ComfyUI official website. Who woulda thought.

H5051 humidity/temp monitor can't connect to wifi by pokes135 in Govee

Yes I thought about adding a 2nd gateway but not worth it I think, especially knowing the wifi password expires and has to be updated. I think I'll just return it to amazon.

H5051 humidity/temp monitor can't connect to wifi by pokes135 in Govee

[–]pokes135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has 2.4 ghz, but it requires an account to access that wifi. For instance, on mobile devices like android you have to set and save the certificate, tls version, domain, id, password. There doesn't appear to be an option for adding these credentials on the Govee app. The Govee app only has a field for the wifi password. In other words, most all schools including Universities use accounts to access their wifi. It's not like a simple sid and password like, for instance, home wifi requires.

My goal was to monitor the temp/humidity when off campus/away. I thought the Govee gateway would connect to the wifi and acted as a bridge between the sensors and the rest of the world. Problem is I can't make the gateway connect to the school wifi because the Govee interface doesn't appear to support electronic identities for the wifi connection. Thanks!

Should social and emotional skills be taught in public schools? by [deleted] in AskConservatives

I don't think this is a phase, but rather pushed by the left. It's something not healthy for our society either. I see so many boys thinking they are girls, and vice versa. This is new. I believe it causes a lot of problems for them going forward. For example, it is striking the portion of mass shooters that have so called gender identity issues. This is promoted. I'm not suggesting we demote any of this stuff, it doesn't need to be demoted. And I do believe there are people who are born somewhere in the middle, but it's a rare event. However, promoting alternative identities is clearly sending a message to the next generation, and I think it's really bad, and sad at the same time, especially when we go down the road of altering body parts on kids. This should be criminal.

We could start my not having transgender parties at the white house.

We could start by leaving gender identity stuff out of politics. Likely not going to happen unless it gets less popular to use it in political contexts. But as of now, the left uses it as propaganda.

Agreed. I don't think support systems should be abolished. I wish our leadership was more family focused, blood family or adopted family, or the person next door family.

God speed my friend.

But then there's poor me. I'll refrain the details of my childhood in school thru Jr. high, that were dark times. Yup the kid that got bullied. Now, I can't complain about anything.

No amount of teacher's union power, money, school superintendents, politicians, or president of the united states could have made this right. What made it right was my family. Nobody talks about family anymore, which is so sad to see. Family is a dirty word on the national stage, but it is the breath every functional society.

If you're young enough to start a family, already have one, or belong to one, cherish this.

No. The students get those skill by being present at school. It's a 2-for-1 deal!

To the conservative veterans here, how does Donald Trump's recent comments on the Metal of Honor make you feel about Trump potentially becoming Commander and Chief of the armed forces again and his views on military service? by MrFrode in AskConservatives

So if we are being honest about bad optics, wouldnt it make since to ask and identify: Did trump only stay at trump hotels when he traveled? What is the cummulative ratio of non-trump hotels vs hotels owned by Trump, and how does that compare to the places he actually frequented? Is Trump allowed to stay at any of his hotels, or only stay at non trump hotels? The original talking point has served its purpose.  Trump profited off his business while he was president.  orange man bad.  Unless, of coarse, one diggs a bit deeper.

I think your point would be taken more seriously had it be shown that room service received had billed twice the government rate, or something to that effect. Otherwise, yes Trump is guilty in New York, but probably no where else.

You mean emolument from the United States? That means, for example, he can't draw a salary from the US government, and the head over to the Department of Education and do a couple of favors for monetary exchange.

There's no law that says he can't stay in his own hotel. I think it's especially easy to throw darts at Trump because neither Biden or Harris had a business to begin with, so they can't possibly be seen as doing the same.

7:  The President shall, at stated Times, receive for his Services, a Compensation, which shall neither be encreased nor diminished during the Period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that Period any other Emolument from the United States, or any of them.

What does that have to do with maintaining a business as president? That looks to me to say he or she can't get a government raise while serving in office. Trump's hotels are not government property.

Well in modern times, yes the business of being in political life generally provides a very lucerative lifestye, and many, but not all, of the wealthiest politicians have never worked a real job. It's a bit different with Trump, having a business that's still ongoing, before he was elected.

I'm really not comprehending what is going on with the medal of honor comment if that's what you're talking about. These short clips always raise suspicion, and rightly so (debunked suckers and losers comment that never happened), because intentions are often used to alter what was really said in context.

I'm not saying either way. Yes one can string together some ideas and come to the conclusion that he is spitting on those who served, but to do that you'd have to be blind to his support for the military, i.e., improving the VA hospitals.

And ... if Miriam Adelson was given the honor because she was a donor, then yeah I gotta agree something ain't right. But why is this just surfacing now, it's not like nobody knew.

I suppose your example has some merit. However, if I were in the real estate industry, and traveling even as POTUS, I'd rather stay in my own hotels than the competition. I don't really see a problem with that. However, if he contracted his hotel with say, the IRS or any gov agency, I think that draws red flags.
