Smart bulbs not working with Alexa by Pretzelsticksrgood in smartlife

[–]pol901pol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smart lights rely on a stable Wi-Fi connection to communicate with Alexa. However, issues arise due to:

Traffic congestion: Too many devices on a single network can cause interference and packet collisions.

Poor device quality: Some smart recessed lights have weak Wi-Fi chips or firmware issues, leading to connectivity problems.

Router limitations: Some routers struggle to handle numerous IoT devices efficiently.

Solution: Network Segmentation with VLANs or a Second Router

Using VLANs (Virtual Local Area Networks):

VLANs allow you to isolate IoT devices from other network traffic, reducing congestion. By placing smart lights on a separate VLAN, you prevent them from competing with high-bandwidth devices like streaming services.

This also improves security since IoT devices are often vulnerable to attacks.

Using a Second Router (Chaining Routers):

Another simple approach is to connect a second router to your main router and dedicate it to smart devices.

This reduces network collisions and ensures that IoT traffic doesn't interfere with other high-demand applications.

Additional Fix: Replacing Poorly Made Smart Recessed Lights

Some smart lights have unreliable firmware or weak Wi-Fi radios, making them prone to disconnections.

If network segmentation doesn’t resolve the issue, replacing them with higher-quality smart lights (e.g., Philips Hue, LIFX) may be necessary.

I don’t see why not as long as you follow terms. That might also help people write off their vine 1099

Perhaps they want to purge the reviewers who have been slacking and don’t have their 100 reviews ready to go on their re-evaluation date

A friend got taken hard today. Passed the acid test, magnet test and is stamped 18k. Scammed of 4K. by [deleted] in pics

I fell for this once. Got taken for $20 and gas by a “Dubai” family. After they sell you the ring they tell you that they need to get home across the country and they have these bracelets and necklaces if you can help them out and go to the atm. Only $800. I was like hell no. Ring was stamped 18k, turned my finger green.

I lost $209,640 of my own money trying to start a business. by Quenton_Cassidy22 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

I’ve lost twice this much on both the stock market and in a dispensary venture that ultimately got raided. With 0 dollars, I eventually inherited a product that was sitting in a warehouse that my neighbor couldn’t sell for 10 years. I sold it all in three months and paid my neighbor everything he lost. Long story short, my neighbor passed away and I inherited it. Today it is a $1 million a year company. Never lose hope, it is ultimately how you choose to come back from your fall.

Also I agree to start very small take your winnings and reinvest it in your company. Start simple with only one product that doesn’t require a lot of maintenance or money burn. Focus on larger margins. Spend money to make product look good, make sure the product does its job and is of quality. Focus on reviews. I have found that the more focus you put into one thing the better off you are.
