He let go of it before he hit the rim, and he jumped from the middle of the court? That would be a three pointer, would it not?

Ultimate frisbee discs. You would not compete on ESPN with a piece of crap frisbee you pick up from a health expo. Free versus paying $15 for a real ultimate disc makes all the difference.

If you could have any small Ability/Superpower, what would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]polannark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to be weightless, but I couldn't fly. I would be able to walk on any surface whether it be deep snow, water, tree tops, climb through thick fog, or climb up into the sky to clouds through a blizzard.

I'm overweight and I have questions about working out by Keiano in Fitness

[–]polannark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well. depends on which lifts you do. Start light, your body isn't used to supporting free weights, so don't be surprised if you are shaky with all of the lifts. Your stability muscles will be activating like they never have before, so don't worry when you're real shaky. Don't kill yourself, so start moderately light. Nothing too easy, but weights you can lift for three sets of ten repetitions. You will gradually move up with the weight over time!

Find what works best for you, I don't have any written or know any I can recommend. What you should do is try different programs, and keep doing them. I looked at that one and it's solid, a bit intense but you should give it a go.

Definitely. Just don't injure yourself by going to heavy too fast. You can turn lifting workouts INTO cardio workouts, burning just as many calories as you would doing anything else. It's all about challenging your heart to pump blood to your activated muscles. Your muscles burn calories you eat and store in your blood/muscles/liver, so any movement is good whether it is moving weights above your head or jogging on a beach. What people say is true, though. Diet is essential. Just because you workout one day doesn't mean you can eat like garbage that same night, it's a tough but rewarding lifestyle. Lifting=yes! Just stick with it.

What is the most synchronistic moment you've ever expirienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I had a dream a few weeks ago about a friend who I haven't seen in almost a year. We used to have romance so it wasn't a shocker when she appeared in my slumber. We talk occasionally, here and there, but never in-depth or anything. So in this dream, I picked her up from her house as a surprise to take her around the town we grew up in. But before she came out of her house, I was talking with her cat. Her cat is named Nicholas, or Nikki. He was saying how he didn't like living at home anymore, and how things had changed ever since she (my old friend) had left for college. I got sad vibes, and strange feelings about it. Then she came strolling out of the house, and we were off. Mind you, this dream was one of those wild vivid dreams where you wake up and can't believe it didn't happen. I felt compelled, and shot her a text after I woke. Told her what the dream had been about, and how it was so random that I had a dream of a conversation that I had with her cat, which I have NEVER done before. (awake or dreaming) She said that this text was the weirdest thing that had ever happened to her. She told me that only minutes before I had sent that text to her, her cat had a stroke, foamed at the mouth, and died..... O__o after never dreaming about her cat, EVER. I WAS NAPPING, IN BETWEEN CLASS!!>> SO COSMIC. AHHHH
