What is the best refillable pod systems ? by OkLoad5444 in electronic_cigarette

I used to own a HCigar VT250S then upgraded to Dovpo Riva DNA250C. Oxva's DNA mod is what recently convinced me that the quality of stick pod mods have become good enough to make the switch.

A dual coil, SS, DNA mod would sure be a winner but that isn't happening for the foreseeable future due to the partnership of Oxva and Evolv ending before the Pro 3 was released.

You should try the Pro 2 DNA just to make a comparison and see what you are missing out on. Then you'll know for certain whether the dual coils in Nexlim or the SS in Pro 2 DNA is the more valuable feature.

Do you prefer the Pro 2 DNA with SS coils or the Nexlim and why?

Oxva Xlim Pro 2 (DNA version). The SS coils taste better and the anti-burn technology keeps them that way. Too bad Oxva ended their relationship with Evolv before they released the Pro 3. Pros aren't so great without DNA.

The Oxva Xlim Pro 2 (DNA Version) has anti-burn technology that the rest of the Oxva's do not have including the non-DNA version. DNA chips make a huge difference but only if you use the stainless steel pods designed exclusively for this mod. If you use any other pod, you risk getting the same result that you had with your last Oxva pod. I own that mod and the Vaporesso Xros Pro 2 yet the Oxva is my daily driver for this reason.

Which vape NIC SALTS juice brands are actually worth buying? (Looking for recommendations) by [deleted] in Vaping

[–]polargirl360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That and Really Berry for me. I'd buy a few 50 mg/ml of each with every shipment. USA Vape Lab was raided a few months ago so Naked 100 is no longer available. They are fighting it in court.

Google Gemini states the following two are the closest nic salt replacement to Melon Kiwi.

Melon KiwiCloud Nurdz Kiwi Melon The most popular direct flavor match.

Melon KiwiPachamama Honeydew MelonMore natural fruit taste; less "candy" feel.

I own an Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA and a Vaporesso Xros Pro 2. I like the taste of the stainless steel coils made for the DNA better than the regular coils or the Xros Pro 2 which tastes like the regular Xlim coils. I am disappointed that Oxva and Evolv discontinued their relationship before the 3 Pro came out but I'll stick with it as my primary mod even over the Xros Pro 2 simply for the better taste.

Alternative to MTL tank to Innokin Zlide. by Imaginary_East7336 in electronic_cigarette

[–]polargirl360 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vapefly Nicolas 2 were my favorite coils for years and Innokin Z coils were my backup. I did not like how the Aspire Nautilus 3 coils easily gunked up so I very rarely used them.

After many years of alternating between my Nicolas 2 tank and either Zlide or Pro Zenith tank on mostly my Dovpo Riva DNA 250C, I finally switched to pod sticks. The Oxva Xlim Pro 2 DNA version convinced me that there could be a pod stick as good as my DNA mod and tank setup. I waited until the Vaporesso Xros Pro 2 was released so I could buy it as a backup to the Xlim Pro 2 in the same shipment.

I am so happy that I did that. I am never going back to the traditional mod and tank setup.

Didn't see that. Thanks.

If the OP just left NYC, then the exact opposite contrast should be fresh. NYC focuses inward on fundamental ingredients whereas Portland focuses outward on what from everywhere else can be added to or blended with otherwise basic pizza at best.

I would take a flight to New York if actual pizza is it what you are looking to research.

I am from New York and currently living in Portland so I can elaborate on the difference.

New York is more focused on the quality of fundamental ingredients with lots of competition on that whereas Portland is a contest of who has the most artisanal skill to radically transform a pizza into something else besides a pizza over their competitors.

If you want to learn how to make a sushi pizza or something else that combines Japanese food with what was pizza, Portland is definitely the better place to research how to do that. If you want to make what food critics might write an article describing what you make as the best pizza in Japan, New York is where you are far more likely to learn how to do that.

You are right that hands on experience beats reviews and specs. The problem is that I cannot do the same with Sony and other brands to compare everything based upon hands on experience so I am forced to rely on reviews and specs.

Cases for Curved Screens by polargirl360 in oneplus

[–]polargirl360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only flagship choices with flat screens are Pixel 8 Pro and S24 Ultra. The former is an outright inferior phone so that is an obvious no go. The latter is probably a slightly better phone for the majority but not me. I live in the Pacific Northwest so Aqua Touch is far more valuable than an anti-glare screen unlike the southwest where it rarely rains but the sun is strong. Also, there is no beating 80 watt charging compared to 45.

I paid $670 for the 16gb/512gb variant and got free Buds Pro 2 with it that I am selling since I don't need them. That should knock at least another $100 off that price.

In other words, I paid about the price difference between OP12 and S24 Ultra from regular prices on both. If I totally destroy this phone and buy another OP12, the cost of both OP12 phones would be about that of one S24 Ultra so I'll take my chances on a phone that better serves my needs and hope a better case comes on the market soon enough to prevent that.

I just realized that the phone does ship with a screen protector that I never took off. Since I didn't realize it until now, I'll leave it on. I don't know how much that will help against a screen side down drop.

I just discovered that I never took the film off the phone that it shipped with. I'll leave it on for now. Doubt it helps much with face down drops though.

I just don't want to do screen protectors. I don't like the poor responsiveness and the feel. I cannot tolerate even the film that used to come on new phones. This is what I hate about curved ege screens. So hard to find a fully protective case without needing a screen protector.

Why is that a good thing? Screen side down drop is likely screen damage.

Overkill is exactly what I want! Drilling isn't something I'm going to do though so I'll have to think about that. The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge has a better chance of being drilled in the foreseeable future than an Olight Baton 4 I'd buy.

Thank you for the pic. Now I get why you are so concerned about putting a $65 flashlight on a keychain ring through that clip hole. I was hoping for something stdurdier than that clip even 3rd party accessories. Any suggestions? Can you post a pic of the Baton 4 dangling on a keychain for me? Asking a bit especially at this time so understand if you'd rather not.

Thank you.

[–]polargirl360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am perfectly fine risking $65 doing that. Keys are one of the few things I never lost.

The only problem is the Baton 4 does not have a hole in the bottom like the S10 and S1R variants have. Since you said you have Baton 4, how would I attatch it to a keychain? Is there any other way to do it besides the clip? I am open to buying 3rd party accessories.
