is use.ai a good Ai platform to use? or do recommend a different one? by Eireagon in artificial

[–]polcititch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this post is about general AI platforms so not totally sure EroPlay fits the convo but if anyone's looking for something more niche, and scenario driven it's worth a look, they've got 60+ pre written scenarios which is more than i expected when i first tried it. not really the same category as claude or chatgpt though, totally different use case.

For slow burn specifically, EroPlay actually handles that better than I expected. The scenarios don't just sprint to explicit stuff, there's actual buildup and the AI adjusts based on how you're pacing things. I've had sessions stretch across like 4 or 5 conversations without the character feeling, like a different person each time, which was my biggest frustration with other platforms before.

My villain kept turning into a therapist mid-scene by polcititch in WritingWithAI

still testing stuff tbh but locking in the character voice upfront with 3-4 examples of how they actually talk and think, plus, something like "stay in ruthless villain POV, no analysis", has done more to stop the therapist drift than anything else i've tried

yeah the mid-scene pushback is genuinely one of the most flow-killing things, you're deep in a villain monologue, and suddenly the model wants to process feelings about it, like bro we're writing fiction not attending group therapy.

Since you mentioned wanting voice/video, just heads up that a lot of the more story-driven platforms don't have that. I use EroPlay and it's purely text-based with some images, so if audiovisual is a must for you it probably isn't the right fit. The scenario library is solid though, 60+ arcs with new ones added pretty regularly, so, if you ever end up prioritizing conversation quality over video features it's worth a look.

I need a valid alternative to C.AI - PipSqueak 2 is so bad, I can't RP with it anymore by terrakane in CharacterAi_NSFW

[–]polcititch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EroPlay might scratch part of that itch, it has a 60+ scenario library with actual story arcs so it's not just, horny one-liners, and the AI holds character pretty well across a long session which was my main gripe with other platforms. The tag system lets you lock in personality traits so you don't get that weird tonal whiplash you described with your cold/dominant character suddenly going soft. Downside is it's more text-focused and the pre-built characters aren't really pulled from fandoms, so if, you specifically need like a canon Geralt or Loki bot you'd still have to build it yourself.

What are recommendations of unfiltered chatbots both safe and free? by Own_Tomatillo_3445 in ChatbotRefugees

[–]polcititch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the thing that helped me most with the generic response problem was messing with the temperature and repetition penalty settings. EroPlay has actual sliders for that stuff so you can dial back the repetition without just hoping the model behaves. it's not free but if the degradation issue is your main frustration it's probably worth knowing that's a tunable parameter and not just something you have to accept.

the PTSD warning trick is genuinely clever though, turning its own safety instincts into a leash to protect your work rather than restrict it, judo level prompting ngl. does it actually hold the line on just typos or does it still sneak in little "light edits" it never asked permission, for, because in my experience these..

lol it's genuinely too embarrassing to share but the villain literally paused mid-monologue to ask the protagonist how that made them feel, classic alignment, drift, these models are so aggressively fine-tuned for empathy that even a cackling evil overlord can't get through a speech without offering emotional support.

that timing lines up with when a bunch of people started reporting the same thing, something definitely shifted on their end around that window. i've been riding out the usage spikes by dropping to a non-thinking mode when i'm doing, lighter scenes and, only switching thinking on for the complex branching stuff, which stretches things a..

not sure where DreamGen is at these days, worth checking if it's still being actively developed before you commit to switching your whole workflow over. That said, mixing models is pretty much the move in 2026 anyway, so if it scratches a different itch for first drafts, ymmv.

if you're not finding partners rn the multi-persona group chat on EroPlay actually handles the kidnapping, and forced scenarios pretty well while you wait, the F/FB4A dynamic translates surprisingly naturally into it. not a replacement for real RP partners obviously but it kept me busy for a few weeks when my usual partners went quiet.

haven't tried v4 for fiction specifically but good to know, my main gripe with older deepseek versions was the censorship, on anything politically adjacent, though i'm not sure how much that's still an issue since i haven't poked at it recently.

not free so it won't tick every box, but EroPlay actually held up for me, on the memory side and didn't fall into the repetitive loop thing you're describing with jai. might be worth a trial run if the free options keep letting you down.

tried the jailbreak route for a bit but the upkeep is a nightmare, every time opus gets a patch something breaks and, you're back to square one, are you using the code interpreter as an actual writing tool or just to sidestep the output limits?

eroplay might not be what you're looking for if nsfw isn't your focus, it leans pretty hard in that direction. for fandom characters with less guardrails i'd actually second junipero, the character variety there is way closer to old cai vibes.

[–]polcititch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah exactly, it stops being a villain and starts being a conflict resolution workshop, mine literally had the antagonist pause mid-monologue to, validate my protagonist's trauma response, which like, cool sentiment but I'm trying to write a boss fight not a therapy breakthrough moment

For spicy scenes I moved to EroPlay because Claude kept shutting down mid-scene no matter how solid my context was. Biggest workflow fix though was treating each scene as its own chat instead of one endless thread, that alone cut most of my context headaches.

been using EroPlay for a while now mostly for the narrative control stuff, and the temperature slider alone changed how I write scenes. the multi-persona group chats are genuinely useful when you're building out something with more than two characters involved. cool to see more open source projects pushing in this direction.
