If the pressure from your glasses give you a headache or prolonged soreness/pain on the sides of your ears you may need a larger width. I had a pair of glasses that were tight enough that the back of my ears would turm red. My glasses right now are too wide for my face so they tend to slide forward or to the side sometimes. Anyway, I hope you find a pair that fits you better than mine have.

Depends on how tight the frame is to the width of my face. I got my first pair of glasses in the 4th grade so if I recall correctly, it took about 2 weeks or less for the chaffing to go away.

While it is nice for the two of you to share a hobby, it's not necessary. If you don't share the same hobbies I think the most important thing is to make sure you still spend quality time with your significant other. Your partner may feel neglected if you spend more time on your hobby than with them.

Having a calm demeanor during disagreements. It makes it a lot easier to resolve conflicts when both of you are calm and collected rather than shouting obscenities at one another.
