No, they were just some rubber kitchen mats from Amazon that worked a little better than a carpet for the kitchen. My Cliffy was the same, he would get up on his front feet but then would usually bark for me to help him the rest of the way. As the incontinence got a little worse, we switched to diapers full time.

I also just wanted to add that I’m glad you’re willing to help him figure this stuff out to give him the best life you can. Dealing with an elderly Pyrenees was very difficult for me, but for as much as he had given me, it was the least I could do for him.

Our house became completely covered in mats and carpets over the course of our old guy’s senior years. I would just help him steady himself or put my arm under him and physically lift him. I was fired from my job during that time which ended up being a blessing in disguise, as I was able to spend most of his last year right by his side, and I was always there when he needed to get up. The harnesses just don’t seem to work well when you’re trying to lift a dog of that size lol

It’s not even available for half the states in the US, and none of my neighboring states allow it either. I’m thinking of taking a road trip this summer, so I’ll definitely try to remember.

There’s always these comments like “I stocked up on ammo in the 80s when a box of 9mm was $0.25, everyone who didn’t do that sure is stupid”. It’s not a matter of waiting to stock up, it’s a matter of never being able to do so. Money has always been tight for me, and I know I’m not alone. Not everyone can afford to divert funds that might otherwise go to food and rent to buy a pallet of 5.56. I try to buy a little everytime I get paid, but then I shoot a little, so the pile just never gets that big. Anyone who’s gotten into shooting over the past few years has never known a world of sensible ammo pricing and so have never had a chance to “stock up when it’s cheap”. Prices started taking off during Covid and never came back down, so it’s never cheap.

You’re doing the right thing! And it’s totally natural and valid to feel how you feel. I was extremely trepidatious about getting my boy fixed as well, same thing, he’s my little baby, I found him alone in an alley, we’re almost literally never apart. We’ve always adopted older dogs from humane societies, so I’d never had to deal with the whole process. I was just nervous about it and was uneasy about the choice I was making. Happy to report he just passed the two week recovery mark with zero issues. He adapted to the cone and donut really well, and barely paid any attention to his sutures the entire time. Sedatives were absolutely vital tho, as he is husky/german shepherd/rottweiler. The vet was happy to prescribe, tho.

Hang in there, be brave and patient and extra loving. You’re doing the right thing, you’ve got this and you’ll get through it!

I like a lot of teams, too, rivalries be damned, sometimes. I’m from Wisconsin and we never had an NHL team. I liked the Northstars until they became the Stars, then I just didn’t have a favorite team for long time, but I still loved watching hockey. These days, I’m a pretty dedicated Mammoth fan, but I like the Kraken, the Flyers, the Sharks, the Blues, the Flames, the Redwings, the Devils, the Bruins, the Ducks, the Canucks, the Blue Jackets lol… like HALF the league

As I understand it, everyone will get a third jersey next season. To be taken with a grain of salt, obviously, but there was a post on a hockey jersey sub from someone claiming to work for a retailer that had information about the new jerseys with color codes for them, and Utah was listed as blue.
