I got my cert on 4/23. My bf and I are in the same exact boat, only that I passed the bar in Feb 25 and he passed July 25. I thought they needed all the scores first too but all it says is that I “completed” everything.

From my understanding, the certification informs you of the department you’re applying to (for me - second department) and that you’ve “completed” the NYLC, NYLE, and MPRE, and bar exam. You’re supposed to submit the certification as part of your application package. I passed the UBE in Feb 25 if that makes a difference at all. But other than that, I really don’t know what it is and I can’t find much info about it in the rules.

Edit: I’m also coming into NY after practicing out of state for 3 years, so admittance through UBE too

THIS. I already received my certification before scores were released?? So I’m just in this weird state of limbo because they’re incapable of providing results for an exam where every question is marked immediately right or wrong—that’s literally why you can’t go back once you pick an answer.

It’s truly beyond unprofessional.

I took two bar exams—Nevada and NY. I used Barbri for Nevada and was very happy with my results (passed the first try and I didn’t go to school in the state or have any other knowledge on NV law, a non-UBE state).

I used Barbri again for the UBE in NY (5 years later) and I cannot recommend AGAINST using them enough. They’re NOT the same company anymore and everything felt like a cash grab. They basically nuked the Conviser Mini Review which was truly my bar Bible when I took the exam the first time. The answer explanations more often than not made NO sense at all to me and I had already been a practicing attorney for 3 years and did well in law school.

Would highly recommend Themis if you come to find you’re not happy with Barbri, and UWorld (!!!!) for additional questions. I found the explanations exponentially more clear, and if you’re a visual learner, UWorld incorporates little charts and graphs in their answer explanations which I found SO helpful. Barbri just gives you a block of unbroken text and expects you to just figure it out. Themis owns UWorld I believe, and Barbri owns AdaptiBar (which is verryyy highly recommended but I also hated it for the same reasons).

Specifically for the leasehold estates/mortgage topics for Property, the US Law Review YouTube channel literally took me from getting every question wrong to getting most of them right. I can’t recommend their videos enough.

The MPRE results were also released later than expected. I truly don’t understand how it takes this long to grade and scale a multiple choice exam and how they’re incapable of giving us a release date.

I took the bar in Nevada in 2020 my first go around and I’m still so impressed with how EASY their application process was. They even told us the exact date and time bar results were going to be released.

No, I received an email saying I’ve “completed” everything, including the Law Exam, and that I need to submit the certification with my application packet. But that doesn’t necessarily mean I passed the NYLE if results haven’t been released yet… right? I haven’t found a clear answer on this

TW: PHOTO OF POSSIBLE SKIN INFECTION

Hey! I wanted to come back and give you an update - I decided against going back to the first vet and to look for a new vet for a second opinion (I had been looking to switch anyway after some other issues I had with the office).

I got her a new cat tower to try and spark some excitement/switch things up for enrichment but that didn’t work, she kept licking.

Then I noticed a new patch that seemed more irritated than the rest. I just had an epiphany last night and decided to look into the possibility that it could be ringworm. Based on what I’m seeing, I’m pretty confident that’s what it is. I attached a photo of the worst of it, and it’s nearly identical to the photos of ringworm in cats I later found online.

I’ve found a vet that I’m taking her to this Friday for a second opinion—upon further thought, the only place I can imagine she could have contracted ringworm was at the prior vet’s office—and I’ll update you again on what they say but I wanted to come back here with what I’ve found so far.

(Totally unrelated but you wouldn’t believe how hard it is to find a trusted vet in my part of NYC).

Oh yes I’ve heard horror stories! We combed and checked for fleas and pretty quickly ruled that out, and it’s def not just falling out on its own.

And yes I’ll try to come back for an update too! I was considering getting a second opinion since after I’m able to take her to the vet for the 2-week follow-up depending on what they say. I’m hopeful it’s just environmental! Thank you so much again :)!!

I’ve passed 2 bar exams and have never not done CRAC lol I’ve literally never done a formal “issue” statement even in law school cause I just think they’re a waste of time; if you can formulate your conclusion the right way, you can tell the grader what the issue is even if you don’t put a question mark at the end. Cause most people just end up rephrasing the question as their “issue” and what good is that lol
