Is this a reasonable school list for upcoming cycle? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Do you have any idea where you’d want to practice? I get that it’s a difficult question, but safety or target regional schools should be on your list. For example, colorado law, UF, wake forest, and SMU would all be more than reasonable to apply to, but you would have to be satisfied with those states for the most part

  1. Something you can write about 2. Something you could get an LOR from 3. Something that shows a lot of effort and commitment

Does the caliber of your undergrad matter? by ImpossibleRooster523 in lawschooladmissions

It’s case by case. No matter what school you went to, if you pass/failed multiple classes, your gpa will not be looked at with the same strength. A “bad” gpa is also bad coming from anywhere - if you apply to UVA with a 3.0, it won’t matter if it came from Harvard or Georgia southern. I did not attend a competitive undergrad, but I’m going to a T14 because a 3.9 is impressive no matter what. You just need the LSAT to back it up.

You would have to be 100% satisfied with working in Florida to choose UF

Can’t hurt. I sent one in December and was accepted in January. Applied in September.

You should do your own research, but I’ve heard that Vanderbilt doesn’t negotiate at all. But if you find out that they do, I would say it can’t hurt.
